Sure. So long as those delve difficulties are difficult enough to justify the higher level of gear, instead of being so incomprehensibly easy a monkey could accomplish them.
People who are bad don’t need gear that strong unless they’re doing difficult content. It’s why gear of that strength exists.

Yet this subscription based game is still here making tons of money after 20 years.
Yeah stockholm syndrome is really bad with WoW players.
Delves should have no relationship at all to mythic plus. People do mythic plus to push keys, get dungeon specific trinkets, etc. Delves don’t replace that. This is silly. I’m tired of everything being centered around mythic plus.

Kind of true, but you can give bad players great gear and they’re still bad.
Because hes an elitist who hates casual players and wants to force them to quit
Just here to add my voice to the "not all Delvers want to do M+
I enjoy Delves, nothing will get me to set foot in M+ again, Its been literal years and I would like to keep it that way.

Even when you go out of your way to avoid playing m+ and the the toxic players that make up a portion of their community, they STILL want to ruin the game for you.
Sad and funny at the same time. But mostly sad.

Do they?
If Blizz’s goal is for people to move from Delves into M+ and they find that transition too rough atm adjusting rewards isn’t the way to go about it. Nerfing Delves or even buffing M+ loot isn’t going to get me to do that. Nor does adjusting loot smooth out that transition.
Not sure what the answer would be here. Maybe mixing the companion dungeon feature with the old MoP training grounds idea. Make a M+ companion dungeon tier that actually trains people in running harder content.
Right now companion dungeons are fine to just see the content but are so mindless they serve no purpose in actually learning the dungeons or the fights (or the dungeons really are just that easy I don’t know lol). If they made a mode you could complete that got solo players ready to move into higher level content maybe give folks an achievement for completing it because we all know people love checking achievements for group invites lol.
I don’t know if that would work to smooth out moving people from Delves to M+ or not. It would certainly be better than adjusting loot and just hoping for the best.
Is it still making money? I mean, yeah I suppose but is it making the kind of money it made 15, 10, or even 5 years ago? LOL no. That’s why you get a $90 store mount. They have hit the “time to milk the whales” level of subscription decline.

Why do we need to be above ilvl 1000? Is this even relevant to the conversation anymore?
Because if people care about Ilvl (as a number) and not the content, that’s rather important, right?
Like people who do delves, only delves, have a lower ilvl, and suddenly they hate the game when the game functions just fine for them?
They don’t raid, or m+ so whatever drops in there or doesn’t drop, doesn’t affect them.
Delves will still be delves, and play as they are.
Exactly this game is now milk the whales and the devs are pulling the strings. I only do solo content now and unsub frequently. I used to get frustrated with the mplus stuff but now that i don’t do it the game is much more enjoyable.

The problem is with m+ and the fact one can enter a key they didn’t unlock.
like I already posted in this thread.
"…The obvious solution to m+ players skipping the lower levels is to make them requirements.
do m0 to unlock m1
do m1 to unlock m2
time m2 to unlock m3
time m3 to unlock m4
time a m4 to unlock m5…"

Forcing people to do content they don’t want to be in is not a good solution.

More long the lines of they think our enjoyment of the game is tied to potential ilvl. Ie, they think delves need a cut off and then dovetail into mythic plus for gear.
Its not and they need to stop being silly about this.
The people who care about the little number going up by one point are not the people delves was marketed towards. I am an excellent DPS from former hardcore raiding guilds. I do follower dungeons and delves (tier 1 if they aren’t bountiful, tier 8 if they are). I only do group content when i can get an interesting reward like a mount. My ilvl matters too much to other people and i no longer care about it. It’s a number, not a measure of how little healing i will need, how many mechanics i understand, how often i will interrupt, and so forth. So i no longer group (outside of lfr) unless some very nice cosmetics, pets or mounts are involved. I enjoy not having to think or worry anymore.
This game is a game. And hard, punishing, elitest content that gets me 1 more point of ilvl is not worth the headache. So no, ion, im not going to do mythics as a natural extension of the game i play. Not ever again.

So don’t do them… Glad we could have that talk.
this is not a stated or implied goal
Kind of implied in Ion’s comments. If they don’t want people to move up then why even comment on it? If the goal is for people to do delves and stop then having a better entry point into M+ would be irrelevant.

the comments are specifically about the people that do want to transition.
not about trying to force people to transition.
if people want to stay in delves, that’s great.
but right now, if a person maxes out in delves then WANTS to transition, there are issues.
Most just wants end-game loot cause the game is most fun with it.
But to get it you need to burn own on the content you want to do with it ironically.
