There are plenty of games that do have housing. We don’t need it here. Try a different game. They can barely finish the actual game content as it is, we don’t need Warcraft-Sims.
There really is no excuse to not have housing. It can be SWTOR based, Garrison type with different race styles for foundations. You can add deco to ALL current professions and add new ones (stone and woodworking). You can add deco drops and grabs from all old content - raids, dungeons, vendors/rep, achievements. Add portals to each race home city to a “residential district” for that race themed starter home that you can build from. Really, shocked that they haven’t done this by now.
You could just play one of the mmos that have housing if that is what you want.
But all muh frens are here
There is housing. Garrisons.
Player housing was on the original drawing board. Back in Vanilla, remember that raid gate in the canal district of Stormwind? That was intended to lead to a player-housing zone
We have a Garrison. it works just fine if you complete it and max it out.
This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I’ll ask it anyway: do you think it’s reasonable that one MMO should cater to every single thing you want? I don’t think it is. WoW is the leading MMO in a lot of things, combat being one of the biggest. It not having player housing just means you can enjoy a game which does have player housing for the moment.
This has been something requested since Vanilla, or definitely since TBC and they just refuse to add it in. Garrisons were a joke and not housing regardless what Bliz may think.
So many players want it, it is very successful in other games but they just constantly refuse to add it. The stuborness is over the top with this company.
These threads have been popping up on the forums for over a decade. No you’re never getting housing, especially after WoD almost killed the game with garrisons.
Hey, I still like my garrison they wouldn’t be bad if they just kept them up to date, and added more locations you could build it. The only problem with them, is they weren’t what they were advertised as, and there was a massive content draught, and they were treated as your major city for the expansion. No one hung out in Ashran lets be real.
Blizzard had housing, its right outside SI:7 in Stormwind (I was alliance back then with an alt), thats the closest you will get to it, and really it was boring, even garrisons were more exciting and that failed too. Its a repeating theme, you isolate players from each other its likely to fail.
The concept for the new Warbands makes me wonder if won’t see this as an upgraded Garrison type place for all our alts
Hoping they do. I miss the days of UO for decorating and having player run economies
Player housing quickly becomes one of the worst parts of every MMORPG it’s placed in, up to and including FFXIV’s creator saying in interview he wished he had never added it to the game.
Please do not ever under any circumstance add player housing to WoW. I don’t want to deal with 50000000+ “night club” housing “parties”, “erp allowed!”, “live (3 viewer) DJ on twitch!”, “raffles! transmog contest” etc. spams 24/7/365 in every zone.
It’s already bad enough having to spend 10 minutes reporting the endless boost seller runs in M+ finder… Having to ignore/report the hundreds of thousands of spam advertisements for garbage would ruin the game for me entirely.
Old school RuneScape for your back
I still compare every game to UO. I’d crave a perfect blend of UO and SWTOR housing.
I don’t want it and will never miss it. The only player housing I ever needed was Tir Backyard #7
me too. I miss UO sometimes.
I highly doubt that, Blizz is never gonna make a repeat on WoD garrisons. It literally almost killed the game, diving subs below vanilla launch numbers forcing them to introduce the coin system.
The only way housing works in WoW is if it’s instanced.
