The vast majority of a characters BiS is not on the AH. One card being sold on teh AH is not the same as buying an entire kit of gear from one raid.
You didn’t play sod where it was locked in phases for leveling.

No one forced you to buy them. Maybe it was your server. I’m not in denial. and agian those arent a full kit. Those arent bis for every class. YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY THEM TO BE GOOD! I wouldn’t. I dont know a single guild who forced people to spend thousands of gold to buy BoE items. Then again I ran with the same raid team in the same guild the entire time. We helped each other out. As a raid leader I absolutely would never require my team to buy those items. You don’t have to have BIS to clear every boss in the game.

You apparently missed the part where wrath drastically reduced the value of alchemy.
In vanilla bots had a complete monopoly on black lotus and drastically raised the price of anything that required it. Wrath handed out crafting materials and gold like candy, diminishing the value to nothing.
This is basic economics.

What percentage of players have bought gold?
How many people have been banned for buying gold?

No GDKP is the best thing ever.
The loot system encourages Gold Buying and Blizzard found there to be a direct correlation with it as well as how it hurt the spirit of the game.
GDKP players can still run GDKP on Asian servers, so they have no reason to complain.
There is a direct correlation with gold and gold buying.

My alts PuG or we form a bench/second Raid team. No GDKP needed and they get geared quick.
