You can’t target a non grouped character by name in combat and assist only works with group targets in combat.
If you are multiboxing why aren’t your characters grouped?

You said you’re two boxing. Still, a reason those aren’t grouped? Are you running a healer/tank or something that would compliment each other. I’m just confused as to why you wouldn’t want them grouped.
Read the thread. Casual alt levelling with a 60 healer can’t be grouped.
Window the two clients and make them so they fit on one monitor and mouse swap it.

It relied upon scripted macros and add-ons which are not compatible with the modern infrastructure.
We already KNEW that some macros and older add-ons would not work with the modern infrastructure.
Unless I am mistaken, the “built in” focus frame was never part of vanilla.

You can do it in party… correct? with the /assist partymembername?
Then, in reality, it doesn’t hurt multiboxing in general… JUST the “out of party” EXP boosting part.
You can be in party and level multiple toons of the same level… and you can play max level content while in part. It’s just powerleveling alts that is affected?
I guess that’s a small tradeoff… like layering is.
