Why are people crying about classic being vanilla when they lobbied for this very thing? Do you want it or not?
It was a thing in BC. It was added with secure frames. I’ve been using it in one form or the other since 2005.
I do. And since I had a focus capability in Vanilla, I want it back. They were the ones who changed the API so removing what we had in Vanilla is less accurate.
I want the same things I had in Vanilla in whatever form is possible.

This addon is not recreate-able in Classic for the very reason I’m asking for the correction to be more Vanilla.

Your first mistake is the presumption that you where ever playing my “legitimate” means, which was always debatable (and that’s being very kind).

From my (and ALL our) understanding, Vanilla had no “focus Target”, therefore, Classic will not have it.
This may be a complete shock to you, Classic is being released, in it’s “classic” form. If, indeed, this is NEWS to you, I’d suggest reading a few blue posts.
It’s completely YOUR choice, to play Classic, or not. At the same time, please don’t tout a silly blackmail tactic, in an attempt to get your own way. You look foolish.

Hasn’t this been discussed a billion times? Blizzard doesn’t care about multiboxers, so none of their decisions are influenced by if you can or can’t.

I have trouble understanding why you can’t use /assist.
It seems like most of the cases where you would want to be nongrouped are cases where you don’t really care what the low-level is doing anyway and you just want them to follow along.
What exactly are these legitimate means you speak of?
Multi box is just bad in general is it not? One person’s time being payed off to two different characters? How is that in any way fair?

Elo wants to play a high level healer and power level her low level on an alt account through quests, not run them through dungeons. Although, they can do that no problem still without this change.

That’s what I’m saying, it doesn’t seem like you need focus (or anything other than /follow) for that.
I guess if you’re playing the low-level as your main character and just want to bomb them back to full hp with heals from the high-level character, that would require you to be able to do that without switching. But I feel like there has to be a way to do that.
Honestly, I’m not sure it’s true that you can’t just /target by name out of group when in combat. I regularly /target enemies in battlegrounds (flag carriers and such) and have never noticed it, unless it was a very recent change.
Maybe they’ll change target when they Alt+Tab and help someone else on accident.
