150ish DPS (depending on WF procs really), A purple mismatch set will out DPS a Dungeon Matched set any day of the week. The problem is there is no MH/OH options for Enhance that match. So until we can get Netherbane from TK we can’t get a Epic OH let a lone one that matches 2.7.
This entire cancerous thinking that everyone needs a PERFECT BiS weapon is just cancer left over from vanilla.
Let’s try not to min max so much and try to have fun.
Being a sweaty 1% player in a 14 year old game is just pathetic at this point. That goes for everyone.
So… you think that gating gear from players based on a very high skill cap, so that they could be on the same footing from a gear standpoint, is a good thing?
And your defense is just, “you shouldn’t care, just be happy with your subpar performance”?
K but I’m talking about raids. I know shamans aren’t all that in PvP, but in raids they are distinctly the best class.
I must be missing something here. The gap between matched and unmatched weapons is 150 dps. The gap between the previously available weapons and the now available ones is 150 dps. Why are people complaining about lack of choice if there’s no dps difference between using the dungeon blue and not?
Your also saying it’s better to run mismatched then use the dungeon blue people are complaining about having to use?
Let’s examine three truths here
-
Enhancement shamans are trash in PvP. You’ll most likely get frustratingly dominated in arena and world pvp quite consistently. So an extra good OH won’t make a difference in that area of the game.
-
You will be wanted for blood lust and totems no matter what. You’ll get invites.
-
If it’s so impossible for your average shaman to get one, and it probably will be quite difficult for an enhance shammy, all shammies will be on an equal footing.
The difference between a blue set and a purple set is a combination of Min-max and spd. SO a Purple set will out DPS a blue set. Period. a Mis matched purple set will out dps a matched blue set. The problem is there is no matched blue set OR Purple set. You best set up currently is a Crafted BS mace and one of the only if not the only 1H mace out of a heroic till TK. So all of t4 there is no OH to choose from. this is where the change from 1H to MH comes into effect and the removal of Area weapons. It fills that hole of no viable t4 OH weapon.
Btw there are level 70 GM/HWL weapons, which is what I was talking about, not the level 60 versions. Just out of curiosity, if blizzard reverted all the recent changes, what would the bis combo be? I keep seeing the BS weapon listed as BIS but there are no other 2.7 weapons.
Double BS
Decap pvp
pvp pvp
decap fools bane
So with the changes, and assuming 2050 is out of the question, the best option would be Decap/heroic for the matching speeds?
As things stand now, yes.
Isn’t this just Blizzlike? I thought the weapons were main hand only until like patch 2.4… why would anyone complain about that? They said they’d make it one handed at the equivalent phase that it did in original TBC as well.
This is Blizzlike, but with the Arena changes, we no longer have an epic offhand unless we hit the top 3~5% of players.
All classes have OH options in T4 except Shamans now. They are stuck using a heroic OH till TK.
He schooled you bro LOL
you guys keep saying you have NO options. as if there are no other weapons you can equip or something.
also,
so you if a mismatch purple set is better dps, then you’ve got options.
No, because there are no viable purple OH. Using a fast OH isn’t viable vs using a OH that is .1 sec faster. So the only t4 OH that are available atm with all the changes is daggers… which normally range from 1.5-1.8 speed. These are way to fast and the loss of DPS is to high. We’re talking over 150+ DPS.
Not all.
Rogues are stuck using a 68 dungeon blue.
Ideal situation would be double axesmithing axes or double macesmithing maces.
Second best bet would be double decaps from prince.
Third would be double foolsbane.
After that you’re just mixing and matching to suit your speed. I deliberately removed pvp weapons from the calculations.
so your backing off the previous statement you made?
This just keeps moving around, yall say one thing, then when i show that it undermines what else you or something else is saying you tell me it’s wrong. All kinds of doublespeak going on.
I talked to a guildie who’s looking to roll shammy, the number he get’s from the shaman discord is 5% tops. So in order to lose 150 dps you’d need to be doing 3k :/. Maybe he’s wrong, but unlike anyone in this thread he was willing to talk actual numbers (sry, your 150 dps doesn’t count when you won’t specify what the loss is actually between)
