What if I told you that you already get 10.0 features/changes for free just for subbing when the pre-patch happens?

Yeah but you don’t get the actual xpac though, that could be really good long term for Blizz if they did that
True but I’d wager a few customers at times in wow probably didn’t know that when expansions happened.
I think it could be okay cause it would change their frame of payment intake from hedging on the expansion launch income spike and long term growth.
Or the game will go to f2p, and have way more mtx
While I wouldn’t mind saving 3 or 4 pizzas worth of money on the game by not having to buy an xpac, I think that giving the xpac away may reek a bit of desperation… might not be the smartest move. Probably depends on how they frame and market it, but really risky because slipping up and giving a bad impression would be easy.

When apple gave 10.9 mavericks (2013) for free and then later on microsoft did the same for W10 in 2015 it was pretty clear they got most of their income from software sales (apps, office suite, enterprise) and hardware.
If blizz loses the expansion spike the money has to come elsewhere.
Subs spike, but who knows if it would actually work. It was just a wild thought honestly, it’s nothing too serious.

Yeah definitely, they can see that “Blizzard changed their ways” by being “generous” and if the xpac is actually good… More subs.
Well if you give everyone it, then it’s really not a “pre-order” is it? And they sure the hell are not going to just give the expansion away for free.

The Dragon race can only be one class atm.
If had more flavor I could see more pull.
Well as someone who enjoys the pre order goodies, I would be disappointed if they did this. However something tells me I have nothing to worry about 
Free or not, I want my pre-expac goodies!
That’s about as likely as me buying Facebook.

Yeah but they’ll get a sh… ton of money when cross faction play becomes a thing and people switch to alliance since their racials are better and people will still be able to play with friends regardless if they are horde or alliance XD
