No dragonflight pre-order

do you think that If wow subs are removed & expansions given for free! would that attract people and increase the players numbers?

it will probably only increase the bots numbers.

Actually when I was thinking about ways to bring back, retain, and get new players I considered something like this.

First expansion is free.

Also maybe if players prepay for x months of game time when they’re on a new bnet account they get a free boost. This way new people can instantly join their friends and enjoy the real game.

Blizzard is getting into the premium and premium+ edition boxes, I don’t see them jumping from that into free release lol

Two major features won’t be part of it: Dracthyr and dragon riding. Oh… and Dragon Isles content. So three.

Didn’t the leak “confirmed” a new allied race next to the Drac’thyr? Let’s wait and see what Blizzard will offer us.

Would be funny if they just upgraded everyone’s accounts for free.

Then I could watch everyone lose their minds like that time Apple gave everyone the new U2 record for free.

Yeah, that kerfuffle confused me.

Giving up hundreds of millions of dollars for no reason is the type of big brain take you see on GD.

if wow goes free to play it will re-enter pop culture for sure.

While it would be good for the company to show some… “good will” due to the last couple expansions and how they treat the player base. I don’t see them EVER doing something like that.

Id say they won’t announce it until 9.2.5 as something in the encrypted files is likely a reward for the epic edition

It’d be an interesting move, and it could work really well, if they allowed people to come back to a new expansion for the price of a sub. A huge number of my friends would flock in for that alone.

Blizz could then allow people to mix and match additional goodies; Epic edition is an active sub + $15, Collector’s is active sub + $30 (all hypothetical, naturally). They throw in the usual stuff that comes in those bundles.

On top of that, Blizz could create a mount / transmog bundle for the shop, exclusive for that window: an exclusive Dragonflight transmog, and your choice of a new Dragonflight mount, or randomized (extremely rare) mount you’re missing from ANY past expansion.

Keeping the people who return (or play for the first time) will be way more difficult…that’ll be up to the current community’s behavior.

Didn’t people complain about that venomously because they didn’t like U2? That’s probably exactly what would happen here.

“Why did you give me free stuff, Blizz?! I hate you!”

I think that reaction was mostly because it was U2  Seriously, if the customers could have CHOSEN their free album, I think it would have went over massively.

I remember the big complaint being, “How do I get rid of U2 from my library?” lol

They did it with Diablo 3. Doing it with WoW makes way more sense. When it comes to the subscription model, giving the base product for free is something that is done more often than not. It is how most people’s cell phone plans work.

It is more money anyway. $39.99 for the copy of wow that the person might or might not play for the full month subscription. Or $77.94 and if you have a scuffed roll out, you don’t repeat WOD where you have an amazing resurgence of players, but everyone quits the first month and never comes back.

I think there were no pre-orders because the release date isn’t in sight yet. Even games that don’t have subs or have a premium feature have you pay for expacs.

I keep running across this album when I put my music on shuffle in the car and every time, I’m like, “… when the hell did I buy this? Oright.”

This is the one thing that would make me quit the game for good. For those wanting this, you’re fools. If it goes F2P, they’ll still get their money but you’re not going to like how they do it.
