The WSG rep gear is not in game at this time either. Somewhere on this forum there is a blue post about it. They say WSG rep gear, other than the consumables, were release in 1.6, so Classic won’t get it until a phase released next year.
The order of the release of pvp stuff was posted by Blizzard earlier in the year and not everything was going to come out with Phase 2. However when the gear is released it will be the 1.12 version.

This is no surprise. Did you not read the Blizzard plan for phases and gear? You make it sound like none of this was known well before the Classic startup.
I’m a mage. I am exalted in AV. I too want the ring but I already knew it wasn’t going to be there this phase.

To the people saying “oh it not in game, it no game till phase 5”, great, there’s no confirmation on that though about THIS RING. Even if it’s not getting added now, cool. Sucks a lot, but whatever. Most of us here just want a confirmation from BLIZZARD about THIS RING. Not WSG gear, not itemized loot, just about THIS. RING. By repeating the same things over and over, you are getting no where. All we want is just one little “Hey, it won’t be added until later” or “Hey, we see your point, let’s throw it in now” from Blizzard. That’s all we are asking. We are all passionate gamers here, so let’s just relax and keep bumpin till we hopefully get an answer (from Blizzard)

The likely reason for this is because of Don Rodrigo’s Band having Spell Penetration as one of its stats. In Vanilla WoW, Spell Penetration was added as stat on gear on Patch 1.9, the same patch that saw the release of the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj and Ahn’Qiraj raids. Don Rodrigo’s, as well as other PvP items such as the Warsong Gulch reputation trinket Rune of Perfection also were released in Patch 1.9.
In Classic WoW, both Ahn’Qiraj raids are scheduled to be released in Phase 5, so this is likely when Don Rodrigo’s Band will be added as well.
Spell Penetration is a heavily oriented PvP stat, which allows the target’s resistance to your spells, and due to the way it works, it is considered to be primarily a PvP stat. You can read more about Spell Penetration, as well as how stats work in Classic WoW, in our [Classic WoW Stats Overview]
This can’t be true because there’s already spell penetration in the game.
Speculation from a 3rd party tells us nothing.

the funny thing about the gear being added later in original classic is because there was no caster alternative to a ring that literally every physical class player wants. their solution was a ring that no caster would want by the time it was actually implemented. its the same justification as holding back the rank 14 1handers for casters. just because they accidentally didnt have a caster alternative doesnt mean it was originally intended to be that way. they already screwed the first phases by releasing 1.10 blues for mc so what is the point in holding back a ring that is literally worse than almost every other epic caster ring already out there.
Exaxctly. By P5 or whenever this ring actually get released it will be 99% worthless. Its worth something now. Release it so people can use it.
