nO CroSS ReaLm mailing?

Part of me thinks they aren’t allowing cross-realm mail, because it could open some kind of hell-gate for spammers.

Suddenly every realm in your region is capable of sending you spam, not just toons on your own realm.

I dunno, that’s my own reasoning, at least.

I think there’s a good chance they are working on it, and we’ll get it next.

AHs have already been merged, trading is now allowed, I assume mail will be next.

Baby steps towards new things.

What I don’t get is say you have 2 accounts, and character on server A can pass things to character on server B but how do you know if servers A and B can actually pass items to one another?

NO anyone can use cross-realm trading with the help of a friend or a 2nd account. I really can’t believed how many people assumed cross-realm trading cross-realm mailing would be included.

Because I’ve been doing it since yesterday.

Good for you but HOW do you do it? If I have characters on different servers how exactly can I transfer items & gold? Do you just meet at the bank, or do you need to meet in a dungeon? How?

I have characters on Hyjal and Area 52. I log on to a character on each server and one invites the other into a group. They can then meet and trade anywhere.

This was my assumption, as well. I suspect that, like me, when it comes to lifting trading restrictions many people think of it in terms of getting things to their alts. How do we normally get things to our alts? Mail. So it’s actually quite understandable how a lot of people would conflate Cross-Realm trading with Cross-Realm mailing.

Thank you for that.

So, each server just needs to be on the same Database / region? Or are there other restrictions?

Example - I have characters on Aerie Peak & Sisters of Elune. One is “regular” server and the other is a “role play” server, so would I still be able to trade items? Or do they both need to be the same type of server?

Yes the only requirement is the same region US or EU. Different types of servers is no problem.

Brilliant! Thank you!

You’re very welcome!

Read it again. It’s quite self-explanatory.

Read my comment again. Try to understand it this time.

I understand just fine. It doesn’t matter if “Mail is literally the most used form of trading” they never said cross-realm mail would be possible.

  • Players will now be able to trade items and gold directly to characters on other realms in their region. Previously this was limited to things like conjured items or eligible raid/dungeon loot, but all those cross-realm restrictions will now be lifted. Play with your friends and trade whatever you want to whoever you want!

Again… Mail is the most used version of trading in the game. If they weren’t going to include mail, then they should have specified that explicitly.

I understand you’re trying your best to sound condescending, but all you’re doing is sounding foolish.

I too was under the impression this was cross realm MAIL not elusive corporate semantics that co-opted the word TRADE.

They didn’t have to say… people just shouldn’t have assumed that is what was foolish.

THIS! These faux feature upgrades are marketing spam.

I will if you read the patch notes and quit pretending to be a victim.

Unbelievable…

Any excuse to insult, attack, and belittle, and people like you take it with glee…

I think the important part isn’t the “trade” but:

This would mean more character to character without any “middle man service” like the mail or AH.

Don’t get me wrong. I was saddened by the realization of this last night when I tried mailing something and realized I misunderstood because I read about it in a 3rd party site. I am hoping this will eventually happen some day. That or an Account Bank Slot like EQ had.
