That is incorrect. Blizzard unfortunately said they will be using cross-realm for battlegrounds.
Correct, everything that was in by 1.12 is in. Some content is gated by release dates, that’s all.
Although I don’t think it makes much sense with how PVP ranks are calculated by server and not by the pool of players you’re matched with or against.
Clearly, the decision to xrealm or not the BG system is proving too divisive to the community. Thus it would be best if Blizz would just nix the BG’s all together. Long live world PVP!!!
Battlegroup CBGs were in place as of 1.12. No reason they won’t be seen in Classic.
Whether or not Battlegroups get assigned between the current servers is another question.
This also led to the other faction on some server outright refusing to queue to face those premade because they would lose. So it made queue times go up to 45+ minutes sometimes.
Most Classic players are going to be playing 1-4 hours per night. So your whole night you get into two or three BGs. Is that really how you want to play it?
Survey on reddit with over 50,000 replies says most people are going to be playing this game casually. I think Cross-Realm BGs would benefit everyone.
I’m not a fan of crbgs if we don’t need them. Back in the day I would start joining bg Q’s at level x6-x7 and go do some quests or grind mats while levelling. Finish the bg, spawn in front of the bg master and repeat. With crbgs I would not likely be able to leave the city after queueing. This means I would have to choose between running BG’s or levelling and will most likely ignore running BG’s altogether whilst I level
It is crossrealm, but my question is, is it Realm vs Realm or is it the current mixing pot crbg’s like in retail? Like Sargeras Realm vs Eonar Realm or is it Sargeras, eonar, herod, stalagg vs sargeras eonar herod stalagg.
When they were first introduced, it was One realm vs One realm, not having 10 different realms within a bg. Honestly, I might just quit if it’s the crbg system like in retail. It’s boring and gets rid of realm loyalty. I can BARELY live with the idea of layering, don’t need a second version of retail with harder options.
I would rather have no bgs and just wpvp then crbgs but they killed av for me by using 1.12 already, so crbgs might as well be in. Ill stick to doing wsg and wpvp. Just get my honor for the gear and be done.
It’s pretty simple really. Xrealm BGs have faster queues but a weaker community since you’re far less likely to see the same poeple on a regular basis.
So it just depends on what you want out of the experience.
If you just wanna grind gear and don’t really care about the PvP experience and are fine playing with afkers and trolls and the like then xrealm is for you.
If you’d prefer slower queues but a guaranteed good game when you actually join then you want realm only queues.
Personally I’m a PvPer, so I prefer the second option, but I can certainly see why carebears and casuals would prefer the first. And I can also see how that mentality brought us BFA.
Classic WoW should be the spirit of the original game, not a clone of it. Fix past mistakes and make a better game, even if you have to change the name to Hardcore WoW or something.
Southshore VS Tarren Mill was some of the most enjoyable gaming I’ve ever played. Not just in WoW, in all games, ever.
buckey got luckey
Yup, the rivalries created between players and guilds of each faction are one of the greatest things about Classic WoW.
