I’m not sure where this idea comes from that every single player of classic will clear all the raid tiers, much less clear them right as they come out. I’m quite sure I won’t, but I’m going to play for as long as I can anyway. If Classic gets stale or drops off in 5 years, it’s time for BC Classic I’d think, that makes the most logical sense.
That’s just insulting…(now i feel old yo)
That’s quite the assumption considering I grew up playing wolfenstein 3D, doom, quake etc.
I grew up playing chrono trigger and mario kart and ledgend of zelda. You’re just going to have to come to terms with the fact you have an odd quirk.
Actually making Diablo Immortal makes sense. Announcing it to a room full of PC gamers was the stupid part.
As much as we crap on mobile gaming, it’s a really big market. Especially in China where Blizzard expects it to do well.
If nothing else the private server thing will always provide Blizzard with a reason to run a stock Classic server.
The other thing is that if Classic blows up like some people expect, Activision is going to be looking at trying to make more money out of it. Classic+ or TBC/WotLK servers can deflect the blow against Classic itself.
You don’t ever go back to them though.
Ergo, you’re not a “retro gamer.”
Retro gamers always go back.
But I have. Not recently but I definitely have.
Yes, because going into business with a country that historically screws us over every single time and commits crimes against humanity on the regular CERTAINLY makes sense.
How is that an odd quirk? What you’re saying then is a lot of gamers have odd quirks?
Going to play devils advocate here…
Diablo immortal makes sense when you think about who’s it’s marketted for. It’s not for westerners who are still likely to use A PC or console, It’s designed purely for the asian market who have been trained into the payment models phone games use.
If it catches a few bucks from westerners then that’s a bonus.
Note I said “always.”
These days older games are the only games retro gamers play, because they’re so disillusioned with the modern ones.
Eww, I know I’m gonna get a lot of heat for this, but first person shooters are literally my least favorite video game genre. I had enough of Doom when it came out and haven’t had an urge to play one since. The times I’ve tried them (damn you Fallout 76 that I got talked into buying) I just suck at them, so that doesn’t help. I came up on 2D 8-bit, it’s like as far from that type of gameplay as you can get. I wouldn’t play this game if it was first person I’m so down on that style of play.
They simply should have not shown it at blizzcon. Wasn’t the right place to show it off.
Everybody always assumes they’re in the majority. yes i think it’s odd that someone who plays games would only play a game once and never touch it again, i’ve never in my 30 years met anyone who does that other than my parents who are 70 and they do that with movies and their family members find them odd for it. So in my experience, it’s a very odd quirk.
This was my original point, actually. People just had to bring up China…
I find it odd too.
If you enjoy it why only do it once?
When you say no expansions, I hope you’re referring to Classic and not TBC/Wrath.
Yeah I had a friend who deletes his PS4 games after he collects the trophies and never looks back. Never made any sense to me, I still break out OG NES on occasion, the same cartridges I’ve had since I was 10.
You need to just go right ahead and tell everyone what you just told me in another thread. I’ll give you a hint: Are Pee.
Classic isn’t an expansion.
I’m most certainly referring to every expansion WoW’s ever had. Slippery slope.
Less than 1% of the raiding population touched Naxxramas, so the idea that Classic will be in need of anything beyond that is laughable.
