No catch up for alts

Oh, I can tell you why. It’s because people are tired of players who continually quit, come back, and then cry that they’re behind people who didn’t quit.

And we’re tired of people who never do anything to help themselves, and instead just dedicate all of their efforts into demanding that Blizzard do everything for them.

Tewa craps on Blizzard all the time when they deserve it.

Except the system is not appealing and was loathed by many as it was. Blizzard knew this and made changes. World firsts are done, we are almost at +30 Mythics for those who care… No one, that I have seen, has asked for immediate upgrades to max resist. I believe in putting in the work. But 2-3+ months to catch up to people is not fun when you also have to worry about getting the correct corruptions and pieces to be viable… Not many will be willing to do it. That is a shame, because the more people who play this game the better.

I will never understand people who cry because they think someone else will get something they have. Yikes.

what a joke… if it wasnt against my own code of respecting opinions people using buzzwords like this shouldnt even worth the time.

I most certainly do. :sunglasses:

Eh, as long as the play time is put into people should be able to catch up. It’s not like they’re asking for free max cloaks.

Before anyone says it, this wouldn’t be a problem of a request if they didnt gate it to begin with. then, no one could complain when people ask to be able to spam visions for cores.

sure you do stranger.
that /pat on the back wont come on his own I suppose.

Keep in mind “do everything” in this context is just removing the time gating on additional corruption resistance somehow. “Everything” is really just one of the many systems (gear, Azerite traits, essences, corruptions, corruption resistance) that are essentially necessary to play difficult content in this game.

They deserve it here, but you just happen to have played before and don’t want to see others getting the same shinies. Clutch those pearls. But guess what, us getting to a rank a little faster won’t take them from you… Take off the glasses man. Your selective criticism isn’t edgy.

I wonder what this person thought when they put all legendaries on legion for 1k essences then… the game was ruined or something worse

actually nevermind, I don’t want to know.

Removing RNG is great, should have done it much sooner since they promised that at the beginning of Legion.

I don’t have a problem with people having max cloaks. I have a problem with Blizzard habitually rewarding people who quit the game. And I’m really glad they’re holding the line, here.

Except they didn’t “hold the line”. They gave in. They will again. There is nothing wrong with people being able to catch up in a game like this. With so much RNG and how much you have to grind, people who want to catch up have enough to do as it is.

Again, you haven’t given a single reason why it would be bad to let people catch up.

You seem to want to punish people for taking a break or having real life issues? Man, you must be a gem irl.

That’s just smart game design. Why make it extremely difficult for people to participate in the content that Blizzard worked so hard on, like Mythic raids? We’re not talking about making the content any easier, mind you. Just making it more accessible.

I very distinctly remember older versions of WoW where we had to get people attuned to Black Temple by running them through entire raids - which were completely useless to us - so they could just become eligible to work on the current raids with the rest of our guild. That was dumb, and a waste of everyone’s time.

They are letting people catch up.

Anybody starting now gets levels at TWICE the rate I did, and will catch up to me before either of us hits the maximum in September.

Please actually read, and think about, that. Because I’m not going to keep typing it for you.

And that bothers you why?

I’m not bothered, but you seem to be. But go ahead and rage against the machine as long as you want.

Why not just play the game while content is current? Is it hard to accept that you might just be bhind the players who decided to put in the time and effort?

People speaking up creates change. There will always be those who attempt to repress. You seem very fixed in the position that because someone had to break for whatever reason, they shouldn’t catch up with you until you can get there at the same time.

I am just wondering why? It intrigues me that people feel this way. Still haven’t given a good reason.

No it sucks. Limiting it to 2 corruption upgrades a week is stupid.

Time gating for the sake of time gating is dumb.

Uh, if you’re not having fun and it’s clear that there’s not going to be anything fun to do even after months of chores, quitting is it’s own reward.

Sadly, no. The “catch up” is in name only, by design. Despite claims on Tuesday’s announcement that now any 120 can buy corruptions, no 120 without the cloak has any way of earning echoes anymore. They took that away, and now alts can’t even buy the essences a main has earned.

The only time they make big changes is when people leave en masse. Right now they’re in the mode where they tell us what we want to hear but make no real changes.

I expect to see less catch up in the future.
