Normalizing prices doesn’t actually work and has been tried by other games and was an utter crap show.
I’m still waiting for any evidence from you.
Tick tock.
I’ll even take a Reddit post, something other than the crap you’re spewing right now.

yeah… and thats by removing old system
in brazil, the minimum wage per hour is R$5.00 (Brazilian real), that equals to $.96 (source is from a Brazliian WoW player that is also a regular here)
so in a week, 40 hours of minimum wage in Brazil is $38 USD, $154 a month in USD value
if they had normalized prices to reflect $15 USD to all currencies, they would have not be able to afford WoW
but because cost of living is alot lower compared to the US, Blizzard reflects their sub prices to be lower, because it MAKES SENSE
I despise Bobby actually and think blizzard is a terrible company.
I also think people who try to cheat the system should get whatever penalty they deserve.
Equal opportunity justicar if you will.
I don’t bother reporting peoples posts, none of you mean anything to me anyway.
Seeing as you’ve resorted to the common tactic of someone backed into a corner in a discussion, I take it you don’t have any actual evidence to support your claim.
Evidence was provided earlier in the thread to support the opposing side. You and yours have provided nothing more than feelings and opinions.
In summation.
You lost.
Come back when you grow up and know how to provide evidence to support your claims.
Filthy potato.
Which is exactly what happened in other mmos, especially in countries in South America and Eastern Europe.
These potatoes only care about their own inconvenience and their hatred of the company.
It’s why none of them can provide any evidence to support their positions
yea people don’t understand cost of living outside of US
$15 isn’t much here, but $15 is alot more worthy in another country
a 2 liter coke in Brazil is $1.33 USD, and 20 oz coke bottles here are like $2+
almost like people don’t understand currency and think every country reflects on the US Dollar
Any change that results in more people being screwed over and forced to pay for gametime they don’t want to use is a good change. And people who used the system exactly as it was designed to be used were “cheating”. Lovely logic you got there, if you hate people and want to drive enough away so you can play wow as a single player game.
Isn’t it amazing they managed to cheat their regular customers and force them to pay extra in the process of fixing a security leak they created?
Sure. Cost of living in Brazil legitimizes charging two months while only delivering one. Makes so much sense.
They told us that “they looked at the numbers” and decided to make this change. Only later did you come up with this excuse for cheating customers using the system properly.
Why don’t you pay double for your gametime, clark, since it’s so virtuous of you to force other people to pay double? Or do you even pay for your own gametime? Do you play for free?
he never said all players who did that were cheaters, he said some people used it to cheat the system
blame your colleagues for this not Blizzard, they are infact, a Business
2 months of WoW in Brazil is $12-13 in USD, because their cost of living is lower than united states
no because you were able to switch your IP address with a VPN, and pay a lower fee in WoW, it’s literally why they did this
I do yes, does it concern you I pay $77 per 6 months with my own checking account?
because I pay for a subscription, where the prices are unchanged, cause I pay with a debit card (checking account)
You said people who used the system exactly as it was designed are trying to cheat.
1 month of gametime in the US is 60 dollars.
I’m not sure who you think my “colleagues” are. If the foreigner criminals you are directly accusing me of being in cahoots with are them, maybe look in the mirror. Lies are not helping you.
?? or you meant 6 months
well yes… because you’re living in the US, now if you live outside the US your sub cost would be cheaper BECAUSE IT COSTS LOWER TO LIVE THERE
the guy from Brazil is a regular here, he’s free to chime in but I’m hiding his name

yes, some people, not all people
$29.99 for 2 months = $14.99 (and a half!)/mo.
$77.94 for 6 months = 12.99/mo
this has been discussed to death the price increase on latam countries and oce/russia was obscene during the pandemic the removal of the option is always a bad idea.
What is this “if you were living in a foreign country” thing you keep trying to shoehorn into the discussion? If I want to buy 1 month of gametime I must pay for two.
They restructured it to remove the discount from the 6 month block and force people who only wanted to buy 1 month to pay for two. None of the international shenanigans forced them to do that. They didn’t even bring up the idea that international situations had anything to do with it until much later.
No… You’re paying for two months by redeeming 2 tokens into blizzard credit (which I still don’t understand why)
You can still get 1 months worth via redeeming 1 token in game to 30 days instead of $15
Ah yes, the folks that never had to buy a 60-day top-up card for $39.99 (I don’t live in the US, this is after applying the conversion rate). I wish I had the 6-mo option back when I was a penniless kid that had to budget for game time.
But this was brought up a while back when they did it. There were speculations to why they did it but really it only affects battle.net balance. You can still subscribe for 6-12 months or something like that if you use a cc or similar.
Like I said it’s like blizz don’t take the battle.net balance seriously at all, you’re very limited to what you can actually do with it.
Yeah, but that’s a problem for some people who can’t do the sub thing.
Dude, srsly? What the hell is your problem?
You’re the one that needs to grow up. Jesus, there’s no damn evidence of anything. And it doesn’t matter why. It happened, some aren’t happy. It was a bad way to do it. There were probably other ways to go about giving those options. I mean, if it can’t be modified, then just ban people if they do it. That would solve it. But they don’t. They changed it and took out options. Chill out. God.
What’s stopping people from getting 60 days for another price? What was stopping Blizzard from finding a different way to do this? Force your account into your country’s currency. Force the price into the country you’re gifting it to. Nothing needs to go by IP.
Dude called him an idiot. I’d ignore him, too. But I’m sure you’re okay with that, because otherwise you lose the only person agreeing with your non-issue and non-reason why it was changed.
