Nightmare Dragons Updates - March 4

With scheduled weekly maintenance, the Nightmare Dragons have been updated to be a series of bosses players can use to catch up in many ways.

Rewards

  • The Nightmare Dragons now drop three Tarnished Undermine Reals each.
  • The Nightmare Dragons now each drop a piece of Non-C’thun Temple of Ahn’Qiraj Tier.
    • As a result of dropping Ahn’Qiraj Temple tier gear from the Nightmare Grove, we are also giving players access to the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj vendors right at the entrance of the raid. These NPCs are Kandrostrasz, Vethsera, and Andorgos.
  • The Nightmare Dragons now each drop a piece of Blackwing Tier that is not available on the Undermine Real vendor. (Shoulders/Legs/Head/Chest).
  • The Nightmare Dragons now each drop a Blackwing Lair class trinket.
  • All of the pieces in the Nightmare Dragon’s old loot has had 8 primary armor slots updated to have the Timeworn tag, allowing them to interact with the Signet Ring of the Bronze Dragonflight line.
  • To allow players more chances to get missing patterns, the Nightmare Dragons can now drop all of the enchanting and engineering patterns from Molten Core and Ahn’Qiraj.

Tuning

  • Health of all bosses and enemy creatures reduced by 15%.
  • Damage and healing of all bosses and enemy creatures reduced by 30%.
  • All Dragons no longer thrash.
  • Emeriss - NPC priests during the PvP raid phase no longer cast Mind Control.
  • Lethon - Damage reduction aura from the large Spirit Shade reduced to 50% (was 99%), and movement speed of Spirit Shades lowered by 25%.
  • Ysondre - Divergent Lightning is now cast less frequently and deals less damage.

As before, the Nightmare Dragons remain on the twice a week lockout.

Really nice changes, hope to see reals added to AQ!

Edit: 2x Reals dropped off of Kurinazz just now, great change!

1 phase to late I’m afraid.

Absolutely sick change. Nails many common gripes while making dead content alive, all in a relatively low-effort package to execute upon.

Props to whoever on your team came up with that concept.

W. Now someone tell me where these dragons are. New to SOD and I’m loving it!

This is a pretty cool change. There was very little reason to do these bosses before. Better now than never! This will be great for new/returning players and alts!

Just enchanting and engineering? What about the alchemy flasks?

This is Enchanting and Engineering Recipes from Molten Core, and All Patterns from Ahn’Qiraj.

You can get the Alchemy Flasks from Ahn’Qiraj as well.

Unexpected and wonderful, another W

Updates like these really should be in a place more appropriate though, like a youtube video’s comment section

Both AQ instance bosses should reward reals per kill.

This is a cool change to make the nightmare dragons relevant, but it most likely has effectively killed my chances at finally getting my class weapon because this will inevitably cause BWL runs to be far less common. Please put these on the reals vendor or something.

Between the bosses each dropping t2 and t2.5, dropping reals, being nerfed, and right outside SW, I would hope that these are pretty active in a way similiar to people running MCs. The more runs exist the less pressure people feel to make their own raid and HR what they need.

BWL runs are still the most fun pugs and give TONS of reals, I wouldn’t sweat it

BWL runs will become better not worse. Currently most BWL runs are like 20 Pallies 10 mages and maybe a few random people, now BWL will have a healthy class spread.

We’re in the same guild. Our guild runs BWL every week.

What about scarabs and idols required for the tier armour?
