Nightborne: The Fixes We Need

Fix the Nightborne!!

Most of the Nightborne male faces look like they're constipated and angry about it

Agreed on everything, still waiting for a fix. Please Blizzard make it happen!
I'm hoping for a quality pass on Allied Races.

These feels very much like the HD model updates everyone got in WOD. You could tell Night Elves were one of the first ones worked on, and they had major issues compared to some of the last ones worked on (and things like Belf Males having duckface for the entirety of Legion before finally getting fixed just recently).

I feel Nightborne were worked on as Allied Raced early, if not first, and it shows compared to how detailed, refined and expanded the more recent Allied Races are.

Bump! For the Shal'dorei!
Need more people to voice their support fo visibility.
Allied races are cool. Blizzards current stance seems to be to abandon them in whatever state they're released in. That isn't cool.

In Blizzards defense they barely seem concerned about fixing issues with regular races, taking years to fix problems, so they don't play favorites at least.

Maybe we'll get an Allied Races polish pass after Worgen and Goblins are done.

Yes, I support this.

The belt clipping the front of my robe is really distracting. Speaking of, I do like the idea of having a robe-less option of the heritage. I prefer robe-less mages, and it would look fantastic on melee Nightborne.

I would love Shal'dorei weapon xmogs, that would be icing on the cake.

After reading this, I am SO SAD we don't have Masquerade or Dispel Illusion. :/ That's really a shame.

Another cool idea is if warlocks could get the Felborne looks and xmogs, damn that would be cool.

This is what I'm really hoping for.

At some point they should take a break from adding more allied races and focus on fixing the issues with the ones we already have, and maybe add more customization options.

Yes it would!

Also, Highmountain Tauren have 4 skin colors when regular Tauren have 19!

It'd be a wonderful Halloween treat to make Nightborne look less like extras off the set of "Thriller."

Nightborne were supposedly worked on the most, according to Blizzard they took the most work out of all the current planned AR (I don't understand how, but that's what they claim nonetheless)

A lot of people really hate the female posture for Nightborne, I was one of them but I've grown used to it at this point and don't really mind it after all this time. The other, bigger issue is the massive lack of customization. Nightborne need tons of new (good) hairstyles, faces, and hopefully some new colors for skin, hair, and a gold option for the accessories like the NPC's.

Perhaps the reason why they were the most work on the development end was the fact they had to slim down the Night Elf models and give them a different posture, because when I look at them and their very pathetically sparse customization choices I really cannot see how they were the most worked on.

Highmountain Tauren also need more options because they also have so few.

Adding my support to this. I was really looking forward to playing one of the HD versions of the original models (that WoWhead actually datamined) and even though I love the nightborne as a race, I'm really disappointed that they are just reskinned nelves. Even if you just add the hd old models in addition to the current ones, it would give more customization options, maintain the ability to play a nelf skeleton on Horde, and, most importantly give players who got attached to the old models the opportunity to play them.

I don't feel like a nightborne on this tune. I feel like a reskinned nelf.

Please also fix the idle animation, I submitted a bug report all the way back when the patch that started it dropped.

Earring options: 6 (including no earrings)

I disliked how one of the earring options made the ears look like horns. But other than that, none of it really matters.

None of it.

At the end of the day, you're talking about hair and face and all these options that I never see anyway. I'm either zoomed all the way out so I can see wtf is going on, and/or ... the perspective is always looking at my chr's back. I see their face for 2 seconds at the loading screen and, even if it did bother me, I log in and never see it again.

The bigger issue to me is Allied Races are just cosmetic garbage that should have NEVER been more than barbershop options. Pretending a cosmetic skin is CONTENT... is ridiculous. And all you people that have fallen for this are pathetic suckers.

This is not content.

The biggest things I feel personally are:

The chin thing should be tied to jewelry/it’s own option, not the robe. To me, it’s something essential to the males but awful on the females.

Faces: The females have basically “one-face syndrome”. I personally like the wide eyes, but eyes based off the npcs should be in several facial options.

Suramar: the Nightborne need a racial that makes everything in Suramar city non hostile. Its silly I need to masquerade to walk around my home city. It’s not game breaking either, since Nightborne start with their questline completed (the Eye of Aman’thul is clutch) so it’s not like they need to rep farm. Bonus points if they clean up the Waning Crescent/Court of Stars areas and phase out the demons but i won’t hold my breath.

I disagree. The Allied races are different enough from their parent races that it would do a disservice to both for it to be barber shop options on main races. Antler Tauren don’t live in Mulgore. Nightborne do not live in trees. The leveling experience would be so.. wierd.

And it is content. All races are cosmetic. People like new races.

I'm so embarrassed for Blizzard that this hasn't been fixed yet.

But they are a small, indie company after all I guess. /s

Q: How often does Blizzard go back and specifically fix old/busted aesthetics?

A: Never, unless it’s part of a larger revamp.

I 100% agree that nightborne players just looking like night elves with bluer skin is totally pants. The males with their “always poopin” face in particular are pretty awful. but we got what we got - reskins of existing races.

I don’t see blizzard spending the time/money on this kind of thing when they have the rest of everything to deal with too.

You seriously don't see how almost NO ONE cares about this? People are willing to admit the "RPG" of the MMORPG of WoW has been all but removed, that's all you're talking about.

No one reads quest text. Even those that once cared about the story have given up thanks to Blizzards inept handling of it and their reliance on retconning things to fit.

And even if I somehow wanted to agree with you, what ACTUALLY happens in this "story" you claim is so important? You start in Highmountain, talk to some elders... and then take a portal to Orgrimmar. THAT'S ALL IT TAKES????? That's REALLY the rpg-hook you're going to hang all this bs on?? Start in your "real" zone because zomgrpg .... then ... take a portal.

You ... CAN'T ... be serious.

Yeah the leveling experience is so "weird." It's EXACTLY THE SAME AS EVERY OTHER TAUREN, as EVERY OTHER Horde race. You start in HMT and click a portal. That's your only difference. You don't LEVEL in HMT. You have no history with Huln. You play Kalimdor or Tirisfal like EVERYONE ELSE. What a freakin joke.
