Nightborne Dark Ranger

No they don’t.

my literal reaction to that information

They’re apparently not Velfs. They’re Helfs from back when they were raised in Quel’thalas who decided to go back to the Alliance when their service to Sylvanas was done. Helfs are now a subrace of Velfs.

Nightborne were never once raised into banshees.

Yeah if Blizzard can make that goofy rationale, even though that was never said in lore, then they can say she raised Nightborne that died during the battle for Darkshore.

Everyone wants the skin and eyes just make it so.

Yes. They’re not void elves anymore. Since given High elven customizations like players actually wanted they have become more than void elves. These “void elf” darkfallen and just Quel’Dorei returning home or joining their fellow high elves because they feel blood elves no longer represent them.

Forsaken and Worgen technically have it. White skin, red eyes. Done.

There were no Nightborne at Darkshore. And she didn’t raise her own into service. She also had no Val’kyr with her to raise at Lordaeron either. The last time she could raise was Darkshore and she only did that to the Nelfs to tick them off.

This whole skin tone thing triggers me to begin with. Making it worse with Nightborne would just be over the edge.

Usually, fans tend to make cooler things than Blizzard when it comes to customization.

I recall that fanmade video of the Nightborne even wearing their mana shoulderpads in three colors, Arcane, Fire and Fel, all using assets available in the game.

I was surprised how Blizz failed in that part.

Starting to look like the other way around more and more. Wich is quite sad, sadly.

I’m not talking about current lore, I’m talking about Blizzard doing goofy crap. There were no void elves on Darkshore either so if they’re going to make up lore with a skin and eye color then they shouldn’t stop there.

Dark Rangers are a Forsaken and Horde thing so they shouldn’t get less options than the Alliance.

Helfs have been a subrace for a while. As much as we may hate it.

They were more specifically a Shelf/Belf thing only for Hunters and Rogues. Nathanos taught Forsaken, but actual Dark Rangers were the Faratriders raised in Quel’thalas by Arthas. And then Sylvanas used her Val’kyr to raise a few Nelfs in Darkshore before she was stopped. There shouldn’t be a ton of them either.

I’d rather they didn’t make this all worse than it is, personally.

On the one hand, I’d like it for Nightbourne, because I only have one hunter and it’s a Nightbourne. But this doesn’t make much sense in lore or gameplay, or the fact that Nightbourne couldn’t be much further from Lordaeron. But lore does not answer this, considering how fast Blizzard seems to be tearing down these “gaps” at an alarming rate by opening all the classes to the races or opening xfaction. Lore can’t be the answer.

I think it is time to stop weighing each of our races as if they are equal, and each cosmetic or lore addition needs to be balanced. It is like your little brother Jon gets a cosmetic thing added, and now Billy, Ronald and Matthew all need to get something added to compensate. I feel like we’re past the point where each race needs to be balanced based on cosmetics like this, and Blizzard should just start adding where they feel the lore takes them. If reconstruction of Lordaeron is that … cool by me.

I can always pay them more money and xmute to a Blood Elf. Or I can level a 60. It’s all in my grasp anyways.

It’s only costumisation. Nightborne are elves .Maybe Sylvanas rised them too .

My point is by adding that skin they just invented lore.

AFAIK there have been no Dark Rangers that left Sylvanas and went Alliance. We are assuming that’s what happen last Tuesday with the addition of velf DR.

So why is it an automatic “no” to assume Nightborne died in the battle for Darkshore? Yes, Forsaken we’re running the show but that doesn’t mean the rest of the Horde wasn’t there.

Edit: btw we both know the reason we don’t have NB DR is it’s easier to do 3 elves than 4. Velves just fell into it because it’s a simple copy and paste.

It’s nothing to do with lore.

Nightborne just need to be deleted, and replaced with Ogres or Vrykul.

Sylvanas no longer exists. One of the Rangers mentioned that they’d all be around to help now.

Because there were no Nightborne at Darkshore and Sylvanas didn’t raise her own.

I still think you’re missing my point. There’s no lore to back up velves. None. You can’t even say they were high elves because DR in the alliance before last Tuesday is a retcon. They just sprang into existence.

If they’re just going to invent lore with a skin tone and eye color than don’t stop with velves.

It is very weird that void elfs get the customization but not nightborne both don’t make sense lorewise so might as well allow nightborne

I think you’re missing the context. Helfs of Quel’thalas were on friendly terms with the Alliance before Arthas destroyed the place and raised the banshees that became Dark Rangers.

Sylvanas isn’t around anymore. Their service to her is done. They can go where they want now.

Is it good justification? Eh. But the point is, let’s not make this fiasco worse.

I’d like them to stop with the crap altogether. And this is one hill I’ll die on, because if they give in, then all lore is completely dead and I’ll just quit.
