Night Fae Ampitheater - Relive Legion and Battle for Azeroth Events as a Theater Play (Story Spoilers)

Watched someone play through it and it was pretty cute.

Side note, I noticed here the Sylvar use the kind of Vorkai (deer people) running animation as if they had four legs. So I was thinking this could be a way of adding dryads to the player model, just that their legs would disappear when they mount or maybe you get a choice of the two forms. Probably more wishful thinking, but it was neat to see that.

Can we all just appreciate how adorable it is for the story recap to be done in the form of a theatre production?

Lady Moonberry: They fought valiantly, but someone else landed the killing blow!
Windy, as Illidan: HA! You were not… ready!
Audience Member: Well, that was rude.

I know, right?! I felt the same way.

Lady Moonberry: Fortunately, he didn’t hit any major population centers.

*cough

Lady Moonberry: Not long after, Sylvanas Windrunner besieged the night elf home of Teldrassil!
Astra, as Sylvanas: Lay siege to the World Tree!
Ysera leans forward.
Mi’kai, as Tyrande: You cannot kill hope!
Astra, as Sylvanas: Can’t I? Well then, I’ll just kill the tree!

I need to file a complaint, this is a breech of continuity, and I am outraged.

Also, poor, poor Ysera.

Kill-stealers, amiright? Very un-schway.

Astra, as Sylvanas: You are a terrible leader, King Wrynn!
Windy, as Anduin: Well, you’re a terrible person, Warchief!
Astra, as Sylvanas: How dare you!

Truly this captures their relationship.

Choofa: But they were just in a war!
Ysera sighs in disappointment.

I starting to wonder if I should this this funny or sad.

Astra, as Azshara: You ill-mannered and unfashionable fools will get what’s coming to you…

I adore these faeries’ version of our lore characters.

Slanknen: I’m still unclear how their world could possibly still exist with a sword in it.
Choofa: Well I once met someone whose world was a ring, so is it that weird?

I’m interested in meeting this cat from this ring world, but also Slanknen is asking the real questions.

Lady Moonberry: This made everyone very unhappy

They know too much.

From the play:

I love just how much they’re needling the fourth wall in this play. I hope we see many, many more in-game recaps like this to show how people in-universe react to the events that happen.

Other highlights:

So they love the accent, too.

Ysera needs a hug. I second and third this notion.

I’m still concerned that the Night Warrior stuff and how negative its detailed only further cements Blizzard’s indecision on what to do with it. Will Tyrande actually do anything with the blessing, or Blizzard hit the eject button because it didn’t please the playerbase.

Back to the theater play; its adorable as hell. I can see Night Fae being the convenant for the least serious plot. While the others may sate other players’s prefered styles.

The Night Fae storyline continues the story lines of Tyrande as well as Vol’jin and Bwonsamdi.

Honestly, the Night Fae might have more story development for stuff related to the living world than any other covenant.

…Huh.

Glimmerdust, as Jaina: I lured you into open waters. Because out here, you have no hope of escape!
Glimmerdust, as Jaina: Muwahahahahahaha!
Lady Moonberry: Glimmerdust, Jaina didn’t kill her pursuers.

Are they saying the Jaina fight was nonlethal on both sides? This comment doesn’t seem to be phrased as tongue-in-cheek as the other ‘clearly misinterpreted’ reactions. More Jaina whitewashing?

Whoops, misremembered the fight. Jaina and the Kul Tirans didn’t kill any Zandalari NPCs during the fight like I’d thought.

I read it as Glimmerdust going off script. She also did that as Kil’jaeden further up, having to be reminded that Kil’jaeden lost his fight. It’s less about Jaina and more about Glimmerdust forgetting what she’s actually supposed to do.

Honestly I love everything about this.

Also;
Droman Aliothe: I liked the part where they beat the Legion.

That’s the Wild God bear who lost his homeworld to the Legion. Bless.

Am I misremembering the fight? I thought there were some Zandalari ships that got sunk or some NPCs who could get killed.

She froze our boat in the ocean, and engaged us in a fight. We pretty much occupy Jaina’s entire focus for that fight until she runs off.

Anything here that tells us if any of the Night Fae plan to stab us and their fellow Night Fae in the back?

What I think is funny is that when they’re re-enacting Legion, the NPC actors use the really-fancy holograms, but when they’re re-enacting BfA, it’s like… Really cheap costumes. I like to think of it as a meta-commentary on how Legion’s story was better received (or maybe better told) than BfA’s.

Another interesting bit of dialogue from the peanut gallery:

Awool says: Wait… Worlds have souls?
Choofa says: Apparently? I haven’t seen any around here.
Choofa says: At least I don’t think so. Wouldn’t they be… BIG?
Slanknen says: Perhaps such beings slumber in our groves?

I am not sure if this is foreshadowing or not, but I am curious about what happens to Titan world souls when they die, like poor Argus.

Also, the game might say that I am pledging myself to the Night Fae Covenant, but I am actually pledging myself to Choofa and friends. They are just too adorable.
