Night Elves: Trashed and written into corner

Hi Murg :grinning:

By the look of the forums the war campaign end fell flat on its face…

Never judge the quality of anything based on the forums lol
It’s always a crapshow on the forums

I didn’t think of it this way. If they give the night elves any more screentime, yeah this is totally what will happen. The rest of the alliance(sans worgen maybe) will be like, Come on now Tyrande, we already made up and drove off that evil witch Sylvanas. Can’t we all be friends?

Sigh.

Hi Ely

I refuse to let this die…

In Before the Storm, Anduin manages to convince Greymane that forsaken aren’t universally evil, so it’s possible that in such a scenario not even the worgen would back Tyrande.

Yeah, he really didn’t convince Genn of anything.
You can see it in literally every in game dialogue Genn has when discussing the Forsaken.
Genn is way too wrapped up in his own hatred. If the war is to ever truly end, he’ll need to be removed, possibly even his daughter as Genn acknowledges that she is even angrier than he is.

I dunno, that was before his wife and people were on Teldrassil as it burned and they likely lost some people, too.

But we were told at the end of MoP we wouldn’t be given another chance? So I don’t think it would be crazy to side with her on this.

Yes it’s possible. It’s also not likely. Genn may love the boy king, but his people were burned alive just like Tyrande’s were, and that trumps some “Why can’t we all just get along?” speech from Anduin.

Look, unlike many I don’t hate him but the scales must be balanced and for me, after Teldrassil, it’s not even close.

That “scales must be balanced” is why the war will never truly end.
There is no “balance” in war. One act of vengeance begets another.
It’s like we learned nothing from our time in Panderia lol

Or the scales will need to be balanced. I agree that - if we’re talking about There will now be peace, we will put the past behind us then yes, the only way to stop Genn would be to kill him.

I totally do side with her, as a player. But we all know the rest of the alliance won’t back her because Anduin’s middle name is peace and we need to “end the cycle.”

There won’t ever truly be a winner in this conflict, so there will either be a forced peace or everyone has to die.

So, forgetting that we’re outside and looking in for a moment, you’re fine with “Oh well, yes my family, friends, children I saw playing happily just a short time ago, were burned alive and my home destroyed…but it’s cool. Let’s have peace.”? That works for you?

Also, as I’m not in favor of the war ending, I’m good with it.

On one hand I do really hope the faction conflict ends, I’m sick to death of it. But on the other I’m still really PO’ed the night elves just got brushed under the rug and forgotten, yet again, before they got any sort of retribution. So seeing tyrande go ham on the horde would be really cool.

Oh I’d want vengeance also. But I’m also a rationale person and would be aware that there would be consequences for me getting revenge.
Doesn’t make me having revenge Just. There is no Justice if all you want is “balance” or revenge.

I am forced to agree…it’s not like Sylvanas burned Stormwind to the ground and burned Human Potential alive, or had that Mother of All Guns fired on it and we watched it being obliterated.

Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes, and Draenei lost nothing of importance in the 4th War - it’s easy for them to preach peace.

Justice is subjective, and redressing legitimate grievances is part of it. In this case, make my version of justice the old testament version.

I’d say that all of the caputured loyalists that the horde have currently should be handed over to Tyrande for execution for starters.

Which would trigger an automatic response as it wouldn’t be Honorable and would necessitate a response from the Horde.

As Saurfang himself acknowledged, they’re all brothers and sisters. Baine is currently walking around Org scolding people who accost loyalists, so he definitely wouldn’t want his people handed over just to be slaughtered.
