THe Horde has the entirety of Suramar and the entirety of Silvermoon. Considering Void Elves are a few and High Elves as well, then yeah, they have the majority of the ones who used magic recklessly.
You can’t come here and say Malfurion deserves death because Az’shara summoned the demons when Malfurion risked his life to prevent this. Otherwise go ahead and just wipe out the entire Azeroth.
You have the right to think what you want, but then word it better. Because “They deserve” is not the same as “I want this to happen to them.”
All that acceptance and forgiveness got the Night Elves after Garrosh was a burning tree and the near genocide of their entire race.
It’s all moral superiority and butterflies when it doesn’t happen to you. That mindset would not only be naïve but irresponsible to Tyrande.
And what happens when the next Garrosh or Sylvanas takes the Warchief’s throne and pulls another Teldrassil? The Night Elves will all be dead, but at least they died with the moral high ground on their side right?
Sorry, the Night Elves can no longer afford to just take Horde good intentions at face value.
Sorry but the NE are no longer relevant to the story and after Tyrande gives Anduin no choice but to allow the Horde to retaliate for her future assaults on the Horde after declaring the war to be over, Justice will be served.
Should Malfurion help her in her quest for vengeance, he too will get the Justice he deserves.
In the end, it’s just food for the Hungering Darkness anyway.
The Highborne ARE Night Elves.
They are not a separate race.
They are in fact, brothers, sisters and relatives to the Night Elves of today.
Simply because you throw a different label on them doesn’t magically change them to something else.
I mean, yeah, they’re literally changed to Naga now, but they’re still related to the Night Elves.
You do know she was an exiled Highborne when she did that, right? Or are you forgetting that Malfurion went toe to toe with her over it, a battle that threw Sargeras’ summoning out of control…and then, The Sundering.
Wasn’t being the villain, losing Saurfang, losing Vol’jin, and losing cool-scheming-actually-cares-about-the-Forsaken Sylvanas punishment enough for the Horde?
Sure, blow up Orgrimmar and genocide the Orcs in revenge while you’re at it. Our story isn’t garbage already. Punish the players because the writers destroyed your home.
I’m not so sure. Remember how Saurfang mentioned how they couldn’t fill the chasm between the Horde and Alliance in a thousand years, in regards to the disparity in numbers of atrocities committed? There seems to be a level of self awareness at Blizzard right now, and it may be they will do something more interesting with Tyrande beyond the villain bat.
You cannot lament bad writing when your own Faction and preferred Race are funneled down a path you do not like, while simultaneously declaring the same treatment from the Devs did not happen to the opposing Faction, insinuating their behaviour was somehow intrinsic, and not created by the Blizz Development Team.
Everything was started when the Orcs came through the portal. It’s literally been a game of revenge ever since. There is no rationalization.
Asking for one side to win because Blizzard made the lore motivation for revenge on side, and you stop the buck there and give more responsibility to the Alliance for starting conflicts instead of the horde for starting conflicts then you’re being dishonest.
The Horde start conflicts.
The Alliance start conflicts.
They’re both just literally made up by Blizzard to make sure we have a game. Stop rationalizing it.
As far as fantasy world building goes, Warcraft some of the worst world building ever made. It’s hard for me to rationalize and argue about a fake war that is literally made up by a company for profit.
The Lore isn’t standing on its own two feet. It’s a puppet with strings pulled by Blizzard along with the stage that is the “game” we’re playing also being designed by Blizzard. To me there is little to rationalize here.
They shouldn’t be writing any race into the ground because of lore reasons. Blizzard has a responsibility to provide a good product. Night Elves have been apart of the franchise from the beginning. They’re actually one of the most popular races. They’re not being treated very good in the story.
They need to change it out of shear respect to the playerbase.
The problem isn’t that Tyrande is going to get vengeance. It’s not a problem at all… it’s awesome, in fact!
The problem is that already, the seeds of how it will be portrayed in game have been planted by Anduin’s comments on where Tyrande is. He fears she’s “lost to vengeance”. The implication is fairly obvious… her seeking of vengeance will be portrayed not as just, but as a bad, villainous thing. A path to making her a raid boss, essentially. The tone of what was written there is obvious.
People want the kind of vengeance that was brought to Arthas and Kil’jaedan. Being told you are the bad guy because you went after the Burning Legion or the Scourge, a force that will come back and kill what remains of you someday, feels awkward.
That’s the point. If the war’s over, and you start it up again, that’s not a good thing. “Veterans of the Fourth War” means the war’s over. Tyrande starting it up again is a villainous act. Which is fine. Someone has to start it up again.
People always complain how it’s the Horde that does it. If Tyrande goes off and blows something up for vengeance for the Kaldorei, then hey. At least it wasn’t us.
Night Elves have always been savage defenders of their land and civilization. To see the vengeance in Tyrande is to witness the return to the almost brutal xenophobes Night Elves were originally portrayed as by the Blizzard Dev Team.
If Blizzard perpetuates the original character of the Night Elves, they would leave the Alliance, and mete out their vengeance alone.
Because they are putting tyrande and other night elves at risk of being a loot able villain group for alliance and horde… after the Night Elves don’t need any more negativity. Iam fine with her channeling her rage at Sylvanas, Nathanos and the left over loyalists.
I play Nelf, I do not Blame Saurfang I blame SYlvanaas. I knew she would do something if she became warchief and she did. Teldrasill is fully Sylvanaas’s fault.
My prediction is that in 8.3 the raid will be against a mind enslaved, power boosted, void Azshara.
And while we as the Horde and Alliance are dealing with that Tyrande will be quietly taking over the Goblin port in Azshara and turning the giant canon around to blast the ever loving hell out of Orgrimmar.
Blizz said the canon will be fired, they didn’t say it had to be at Stormwind.
I’d say one leveled city full of non combatants while your forces are busy elsewhere is fair trade for a burnt city full of non combatants while your forces are busy elsewhere.
