Night elves did NOT get their revenge, this is unacceptable!

But the biggest tragedy is all the code violations that must have been in that big tree house…

I mean it went up in minutes…your king really drop the ball there…

Yes the night elves needed more… A little tired of orcs vs humans. Let’s get some actual night elf… Wc3

She should have been yes, given the fact that she’s an elune powered battery right now. A lot of the major people in Alliance should logically be able to destroy the alliance with the power they have. But because blizzard needs a way to make the war seem somewhat balanced given what the horde has, they have to downplay the power they have.

That’s because empowering a character with phenomenal cosmic power does not inherently make that character more interesting. You have to do something with that new strength, and nobody has been able to decide what it is that Tyrande should be doing. She makes bad decisions when she’s in charge, she’s incredibly condescending, and she never feels like she needs to learn anything.

I just… I want so badly for her to just go away and let Shandris take the reins for a bit.

Killed civilians by the thousands to stop the potential future attacks of the military that protects them. Do you know who else has done this? More than once even.

America.

Apparently it’s only a crime in video games.

I’m kind of in the same boat on this one, I dislike Tyrande so much. Anybody would be better. Think about Staghelm.

that’s just it, it was the perfect opportunity to basically remove tyrande’s character from the lore and let the goddess take the reins of the remote controlled tyrande-suit. i’m not railing against the tragedy that was sylvanus’s actions, i’m saying it’s basically going nowhere in the story. it was supposed to be this big event that drives the plot and gets the alliance going after sylvanus for revenge. it was the kind of event that is -supposed- to change established characters and force them to evolve. and they dropped that ball completely, then kicked it out the window. tyrande is still the high priestess of emo twilight doing dumb stuff when she COULD AND SHOULD have been awesome.

The whole thing doesn’t matter though because the night elves will never be able to kill sylvanas in the first place as devs already confirmed that they’re all happy now that they got their revenge.

I was refering to the fact that even if they managed to kill sylvanas somehow, death still wouldn’t be a good way of avenging the thousands that died. Death would be too harmless, and blizz is not even giving that to the alliance.

Please… never say this again…

I also would love to see…literally anyone but Tyrande. I find the way she’s written rather annoying, especially the whole “Oh no my husband” hearth while people are dying. But hey that’s just me. I don’t mind Shandris or the idea of her being in charge either.

Doesn’t mean anything. Story lines are purposely left open all the time. We know this because story lines pop up all the time. Sylvanas isn’t going to die in BFA. It doesn’t mean she won’t die next expansion or whatever.

How you figure? Said person kills people. Said person is killed to avenge the people. That’s how it works. What do you want, Tyrande to go on a total murder spree of innocent people because “I’M FEELIN’ STABBY” and do the same wrong thing Sylvanas did? Thus giving everyone in the world all the ammunition needed to say: “Up, there goes Tyrande again, maybe Anduin can educate her on not being a total nub”.

Vengeance is fine. Properly directing said vengeance is important.

I would sing the praises of Shandris for thread upon thread, but I shall restrain myself here.

yes, literally anyone would be better than Tyrande. Be it Maiev, Shandris, Jarod, hell, even Malfurion.

I mean, he’d be boring, but at least he’d be semi-competent.

Shandris is not exactly the most level-headed either though, if I remember correctly if Shandris were in charge she would have slain all the Highborne that were trying to help the Night elves.

I’m not going to lie, at that point I’m not entirely sure what you’re asking for at this point if that’s how you feel lol. If she gets to be the one to kill Sylvanas I’m pretty sure she’d feel some sort of satisfaction and happiness that the very person who slaughtered her people - after her own people got mercilessly slaughtered practically similar way - is dead.

I believe you’re thinking of Maiev in Wolfheart.

Yeah, there’s no need to overthink it. They burned Teldrassil as a storytelling spectacle.

Accidentally along the way, the desperate defense and rescue of the civilians might have gotten night elves and their sympathizers emotionally invested.

But that’s all it was: an accident.

You can tell by how these events are framed in the fancy million-dollar cinematics. You don’t see the horrific tragedy from the point of view of the victims. You see Sylvanas, resolute and determined in her decision to commit genocide. You see Saurfang (a lot of Saurfang), regretful (a lot of regret) for the role he played. Where is the CGI Tyrande? Malfurion?

When Saurfang is written to criticize the Alliance for killing the Zandalari king and try to set up the false equivalence that the assassination of a political leader is morally comparable to genocide, you know who the story revolves around.

but sylvanas didn’t kill all those people alone, she had help with that. My point is that even if sylvanas was killed, it would be 1 death for 10.000+ deaths while even that would be too much to ask for blizzard to give night elves.

It would feel satisfying, but as I said that would still be too much for blizzard. I would be happy with that, but it would still be 1 death for 10.000+ deaths which wouldn’t put alliance and horde on the same level of moral

No, it was Shandris during a quest where you’re asked to visit a Highborne mage assisting the Night elves in a tower. She says that if it were up to her she would have slain every last Highborne out of oath, but only refrained out of Tyrande’s mercy.

No…Please not Malfurion, I personally for some reason find the fact that Malfurion constantly needing to be rescued a big thumbs down in his defense of him being better than Tyrande. The constant “my husband!” thing that they’ve been doing between the two ever since shes been like “hes sleeping for so long T_T” just seems just so tiring and annoying at this point. This is just my own personal opinion though.

But, all the other suggestions I could get behind, especially since I personally love Maiev and the Wardens.

What even is night elf “revenge?” A strongly worded letter written on a leaf?
