Why do you persist in linking NEs to this hot mess? It’s not direct vengeance, it’s not indirect vengeance, it’s not anything resembling vengeance. Vengeance looks like this:
How effed up is that there are no Forsaken mains here lol.
The Night Elves are not getting any real vengeance.
Tyrande is going to go crazy and Night Elf Players, along with everyone else, will have to put her down. Why? The race is a joke, has been since WoW launched. The world’s most powerful druid, one of its most powerful mortals, and the avatar of a god’s vengeance got slapped around by Nathanos and he left unscathed, taking some undead Night Elves with him as a final insult.
After that? The devs said the Night Elves already got their vengeance.
It’s been a miserable ride.
Yeah it’s honestly a good compromise. I mean an easier compromise would just be writing sylvanas as less axe crazy but they kinda committed with the tree burning and it was the point of no return.
Brother while I feel your pain, Shau is right. We will never see true vengeance. Even though they finally have an Alliance writer (you can see by how this whole Calia thing is going), the plot will be inline with what the entire team wants. There will not be some moment where the NE rise up. That was supposed to have been what happened in the darkshore scenario, and they blew it.
No, brother. You must embrace change. Watch as the filth of Sylvanus cowers from the Lady of Light.
Yes it has. It didn’t have to be this way for one of the three most played races in the game…but it looks to be headed the rest of the way into the trash.
I was foaming at the mouth when the Darkshore warfront leaked and I gave up hope of the Night Elves ever being taken seriously. A whole race pushed to near extinction for an orc to feel sad.
I was Forsaken in Vanilla. My two favorite races were undead and night elf. How messed up is that?
most likely she will just be a backgroudn character… i doubt blizzard will bother to give the forsaken a new home, lordaeron wont be rebuilt. because still at the end of the day, the Alliance and Horde are still hostile to eachother, regardless of the piece of paper as Tyrande pointed out to Anduin and that Genn agreed with (in the PTR broadcast text spoilers).
The only thing I wonder is when we do the “For the Alliance” achievement and go around and kill the racial leaders… do we get to kill Calia now? Also wonder if the fight in Orgrimmar we fight the council of Horde (Thrall, Baine, Lorthemar, etc at the same time)
What’s this “we” you keep mentioning? I’m not your brother, the Light can go the way X’era did, and Calia Menethil is an abomination.
Lol, this is my main. I have not been able to play it for awhile. Every time I log on it reminds me of that quest where I failed to save all those people in Darnassus and had to watch them burn.
I will reiterate, this is the best we are going to see in terms of vengeance. Now they are going to know what it feels like to have their race be subject to the whims of the writing team.
But this time, something good will come of it.
I don’t think Calia will be evil or continue to produce the blight. She is light forged, she is not twisted by angst or evil. It seems like its time for them to reestablish the kingdom and finally settle into undeath. I’m excited.
Does Sylvanas still have support within the Horde? Of course she does… So no that isn’t enough.
it has nothing to do with vengeance period. basically saying ‘forsaken players don’t get to be edgelords because Calia’ doesn’t change ‘night elf extinction’ going unpunished.
i’ll delete all my forsaken alts if that will happen and not somehow twist in a decent way (x-doubt)
have any of you guys ever been so angry that you just feel really calm? because 8.3 showed me that’s a thing.
Nah. I not only cancelled, I’m freeing up the disk space on my computer. I have zero interest in being a punching bag for the devs, nor old god/void garbage. See you in three years, maybe!
This Calia leading the Forsaken stuff is nauseating.
On the contrary, look at the Forsaken and Horde reaction in general to the news. For the first time, they are now saying en masse that the writing is “terrible”. No one complained when a demigod and the embodiment of a god were unable to kill 1 undead archer. But this…the rightful ruler of the people of Lordaeron returning to the throne…this is too much for them.

You must never have played a night elf or an alliance character before.

I think the next expansion things will look up for us. Christie loves the Alliance and it shows. To think…the entire Forsaken governed by Jaina’s best friend/inlaw and her brother!

Hail the Lady of Light! Long Live the True Queen!
Depends on your point of view. In my case, I am pushing 60 in RL so she ain’t all that old.
Blizzard’s bad writing equates to Alliance players hating the people who play Horde and wanting them to suffer.
Yea… Ummm What is this even…? They ruined the Night Elves and now they want to ruin the Undead too. Yay. Let us all be so happy for world of warcraft: Orcs and Humans. The only 2 races that matter.
