As with all other Common-quality gear, these pieces cannot be transmogrified.
To make my point more clearly; PLEASE do not continue this plan! This starting armor is great for the alliance. Probably. But it is not fit for Horde at all. It breaks immersion IMHO.
Make this greens you can buy in your capital as your very first transmog set. Make it a quest line to explain how transmogging works. Don’t replace starting sets with this.

What exactly is the official stance on why common gear can’t be transmogged? I feel like it would just add more opportunity (and precious play time) if we were able to farm and mog commons…
Seems like a common sense win/win unless there’s a technical reason I’m not privy to.

I’m pretty disappointed that they’re removing racial flair for the other races. Why not just update the other races specific starting flair? I’m more than willing to wait if it’s a time thing.
Just make this human specific pls.
