Oh I hope there is music. It needs to be dark and sinister. Like when the Balrog showed up in Lord of the Rings. I want to legitimately fear being caught by it
It requires a ticket/key to access. You will have a max number of times you can access it per week. This is done to prevent people from farming legendaries and such from Torghast, However a possible middle ground would be for them to allow unlimited entry but only loot with tickets
So the Tarragrue is essentially a lot like The Cleaner from Classic. If you fail your test, he cleans your clock. Makes sense and very, very relieving to hear that Vitality is not like Sanity. Thatās the one thing that bugs me with the Visions. A time-limit can be very punishing when you have to AFK to handle RL stuff for family etc.
How do you acquire the tickets/keys? Do you have to grind them out, or are they like instance lockouts that are just there and consumed when you kill stuff/loot bosses?
Exactly. Im so happy to hear that vitality is being yeeted
Based on what they have said you have to grind them out but there is a cap to how many you can get per week. They havent said what the max is yet to my knowledge but if I had to guess its probably kinda high
theme music oh please lets really amp up the hair raising dread
That is an excellent compromise and would allow people to practice without over-rewarding people. Itās worth mentioning that having something to do in game that feels different is always welcome. The ever shifting nature of Torghast offers that.
As for the Tarragrueās theme. I recommend this, or a Glenn Stafford re-imagining.
Yep. They have stated that nothing is set in stone so they can easily do this if enough people ask for it. I just dont want them to go too far and decide to make it unlimited tries AND you get the loot as well. Then it becomes a REALLY bad system and just means by the end of day 2 people will be walking around in their BIS until next patch
āNot timedā. Thank you because Iāll most likely be soloāing these and I donāt want to be rushed.
I am very interested in how Torghast scales depending on how many are in your party. Will there be more enemies, traps, abilities? All cool stuff Id like to find out within the next few weeks
That the idea I mean, If you gonna set up a unstoppable killer (Donāt make him raid boss that just ruin it, Just have him be chase boss like escape from the LK) I mean they are hyping this thing be unkillable and nothing I MEAN NOT EVEN OVER MAX LEVEL PASS exp Char that have new raid tier could kill it
I mean If they gonna put this much work hyping up this mob that could easy one up Fel reaver back in day
What they need to to is fallow this guide line:
1.One shot, Even by Other exp form shadow land you still get one shot form this bad boy
-
build the lore and why you should fear it.
-
Never put him in throw away Raid boss in the Maw Never if you have to have him in the maw, Chase to escape not to kill only to escape or trap.
-
have it own theme that will send goosebumps down your arm or even spine
-
Make it even looking at it send dread and terror to not even look at it, Hell Throw in Jailer laugh when he kill you knowing that it got you and you getting auto boot form the place
-
reward for getting far away or some comsic, Mini verison for pet collectors or even mount if this is like what taken a remodel of the Maw beast
7 if own model: Give it model that make sure that no one hand down suffer PTSD form even see a sight of it that be back our mind knowing it thereā¦ it waiting for us
Does not take few Horror game to get point of āTerrorā of Terragrue right I want it be like āOh gods it Terragrue we need to move now!ā not āgd itā¦ Terragrue wake up, You get kick if you get tag by Terragrue .ā
I want pure dreaded fear when Terragrue is spoken.
Deaths and the Tarragrue
By and large, your failures in Torghast are measured in deaths, not with a timer. Dying repeatedly alerts the Tarragrue, a lumbering iron-clad creature that will appear at the levelās entrance and slowly move toward its end. If he sees any heroes, he will chase down and kill them. If he reaches the end of the level or kills all the players in the level, your run ends and you are thrown out of Torghast.
Canāt say Iām a huge fan of this concept. Here I thought Iād have infinite time to work through the puzzles and such.
Sigh. Well thanks for the info.
The 2 biggest and most central features of the xpac are the 2 biggest disappointments.
Probably a blessing in disguise I suppose - Time off from WoW is probably a good thing.
I fully agree. I want this thing to scare me as much as the Xenomorph from Alien Isolation did. It would be awesome if you hear it moving around the map even from far distances this way you are always on edge
There has to be game over mechanic. You can already respawn so having something kick you out after so many failures is a much better system than an arbitrary clock telling you times up.
I Just hope they do take this at point We All ready at alphaā¦ I just worry this will not be notice or They bother not hearing this feed back on Terragrue
I mean if you one devs, Please please read and take notes and make sure the tower run not only funā¦ But scary I want to have a dungeon that give me chills like fear 2 being lost in dark hall way with Ghost attacking and have them goosebumps
Trust me Blizz it how RE doing good by getting some āHORRORā gameplay why not add them in you Old MMO game?
The difficulty should be sufficient to be the āgame overā mechanic (for the record, I donāt want a timer either). But we should hit difficulty walls naturally. The number of deaths is probably different for everyone. One person might stop after one death, another might die hundreds of times before giving up and gearing up some more.
