Like how ret has to hit a certain number of holy power to use their certain abilities. Or Demonoly warlock.
There’s a few others i think that use a build to spend system as well.
Is like playing a rogue building combo points why in the abyss did they decided to give other classes a system that functions like that is beyond me. Seems a tad lazy to me and boring.
I mean look at shamans now going back to a cooldown system for them in SL.
underwhelming especially for the warlock, unprunning ?? yeah bs, you pretty much brought back worthless skills that will do little or any benefit and curses are the last thing i want back… seriously you guys are so freaking clueless. God this expansion just gets worse and worse as the info comes out.
I love the hunter style Demon pet taming thing you suggested. I’d just love to see our Infernal back honestly. He was my boy
I could have made my point more clear. Way back when, that universal system was mana. People didn’t like playing around mana, or it was boring or whatever, so they let players gear and talent it away to become less of an issue to worry about, until it became pointless and was made only for healers and to limit certain spells (like healing people as a non-Holy Paladin).
CDs can be different systems, but often times they’re also somewhat generic. When I’m playing Prot, I’m just rotating between Judgement, Avenger, and Hammer. It doesn’t really do anything because there’s no system to it. Sure, Avenger’s Shield is fun to press, and Judgement has some cool effects with talents and traits, but it doesn’t change my rotation or give me any decisions to make.
I’d much rather be able to build and spend and bank resources to make decisions, just like when I’m playing Warrior and can bank my rage for up to a few casts of Ignore Pain, or Revenge, or Shield Block. And banking resources is, to me, more fun than banking charges of a spell. And at that point, the other guy was right that banking charges isn’t really much different from banking Holy Power.
They’re doing that, not because CDs are superior and because builder/spender isn’t unique enough, but because it doesn’t work with the playstyle they want out of those players and what the expectations with said playstyle entails.
In general I get the feeling you’re thinking “unpruning” means “regression”. That’s it comes across as. It feels less like adding abilities back in places and more like rolling back positive changes for the sake of a goal that such rolling back doesn’t necessarily help accomplish. Plus, just rolling back isn’t really a good way to develop. If you want to bring eclipses back (for example), fine, but it doesn’t need to be at the cost of empowerments. You don’t need to undo Legion and BfA changes. It’d be better to try to harmonize pre-pruning stuff with post-pruning class designs.
Thus, for my class and spec (at least), I think my previous post speaks for itself. Keep the names as is, keep empowerments, keep Starfall as is, try to add eclipses on top of all that, rather than as a replacement for empowerments.
Hmm don’t think I’ve mention anything about cd’s being superior.
The current playstyle isn’t working well so there moving back. They made a mistake with what players wanted and hence changed it. Seems very trial and error at this point.
Which is probably what will happen with a few others since too many of these share some sort of build spend system.
If you have 3 charges of Roll the Bones and you’re rolling it before you use Adrenaline Rush for a burst, but instead you got Buried Treasure 3 times in a row. Lol.
So I’ve stopped playing BFA at this point because I was getting bored of the classes I play. Other reasons as well but, I like what I see for most classes (since I multiclass so many). For my main, however, I’m not too stoked. I dislike void form and insanity completely. You got rid of the builder spender concept for shamans so I personally would like that for shadow priest. It gets insanely boring doing that exact same thing over and over again. Just take the insanity crap away and go back to a MoP style or something. Or at the very least make void torrent baseline. Because if you are going to keep promoting the insanity concept, there should be more creative ways to prolong it other than just getting a ton of haste/crit. Which the class is heavily tied to. More of getting secondary stats rather than the actual gameplay. Also it doesn’t have an actual DPS CD like other classes. Shadowfiend on a 3min CD is garbage. Make it a 1min CD or something. It’s not that great already. Or maybe dark archangel again. Give us something to look forward to rather than just haste buffs.
TL;DR Give shadow a solid DPS CD, rework it so that we look forward to casting abilities rather than just looking for secondary stats to prolong void form.
Also, give warriors opportunity strikes back as mastery. Deep wounds is pretty lame. Make arms great again (MAGA).
Welcome back CLASH!! That’s flipping amazing that it’s coming back. I remember they removed it and a subtle reason was given… we couldn’t path it right something along those lines. By far one of the most fun abilities I had on my Monk. Good to see it’s coming back.
No MoTW coming back? Such a disappointment. We miss throwing out that buff.
Haven’t read through some of the other changes but it seems somewhat positive. Let’s hope it’s not a massive screw up.
I am also sensing some return to basics here with the post, perhaps they are taking a leaf out of Classic’s book.
Also, why not give…
Shadow Priests a tentacle attack or two?
While in Void Form, Shadow Priest abilities adapt the void, like:
Paladins their long awaited gap closer
It says it will absorb more damage than ever before. They know it’s a wall, reread it. Says nothing about doing damage
@Blizz Where’s my Gladiator spec???
I have mixed feelings about this I quite like the strong spec identity classes have right now. Maybe you could give the specs the abilities but alter them based on the spec. For example AMS for a frost dk could be frozen dome.
Correction, changed back to it’s former Cata/MOP version. WoD didn’t change Enhancement in any way, shape, or form. Don’t get me wrong, Legion enhancement was amazing and fun in every way! But extremely RNG filled that required you to build tons of haste/mastery in order to get it working. Also, this iteration of Enh was just a Elemental infused Fury warrior at best imo. I believe with these changes combining the best of both Legion Shaman and Cata/MOP shaman will create something spectacular! Enh Shaman back in the day was about timing, and if you pull off the combo’s correctly it was satisfying in every way!
Now my question for AoE for this spec is still unanswered, is Crash Lightning still a thing in which it provides light cleave? I understand with us getting Chain Lightning back that it’s a form of AoE but it’s too reliant on Maelstrom weapon charges. Or are we getting back the legendary Fire Nova ability!?
In all honesty, I’m pretty pumped. Frostbrand is gonna be a viable weapon imbue, they flame shock and searing totem interact with one of the talents in a neat way! I’m looking forward to this!
I’m not entirely convinced, but I am intrigued by the Enh Shaman changes.
I felt like one of the things that made Enhancement so unsatisfying in BfA was the feeling of always being either starved for Maelstrom, or feeling like I was letting Maelstrom go to waste because I couldn’t spend it fast enough, mostly due to Stormbringer procs taking priority.
We’ll see if this sort of change alleviates things. It IS very nice to see that I may be able to heal myself more than just 5 times before I’m OOM. I’m looking forward to a bit of extra self-sustain.
If you guys are concerned about balancing with SMF for fury warriors, can you guys at least give us a glyph or something that’d allow us to use the appearance of 1H weapons?
I really miss using fist weapons in PvP as a warrior.
Well said!
Um, I had a quick question. I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this, but Volley is already a MM Hunter talent? So is this new Volley a rework of old volley, or will there be a name swap? Just a little clarification needed, thanks Blizz!
