Well, the builder / spender nature of it makes Paladins unique!
Another day, more community fracturing on whether people absolutely love or absolutely hate the changes being made. Iāll just give my thoughts on the Warrior:
I like class fantasy, and Iām happy to see that the devs are trying to make some spells consistent or universal across specs, but Warrior has a lot of problems making this work. The balance of a lot of these spells is really odd, and suggests rotational bloat. Others might be dead. Iām fine with niche or circumstantial spells, but dead spells are a bad idea, and some of these do suggest rotational bloat without accommodating changes.
I will say that I like that we have shielding defensive options and can off-tank in emergency situations like Druids can. Itās nice to see that return.
It seems pretty obvious that Shield Slam and Shield Block will only work if you have a shield equipped, but Shield Slamming as Fury raises a lot of questions with how itās going to fit in your rotation. Maybe Raging Blow requires two weapons, so you replace RB for SS when you use a shield? Big question mark for Arms.
What about Slam? How the hell does Slam work into the Fury rotation when itās built to generate rage and spend all of it on Rampage? If Slam generates rage for Fury, then thereās no real point in giving them this spell since their rotation works just fine without it, and itās not really a class fantasy if it might as well have a different name and icon. Best guess: You canāt Rampage without dual-wielding, so youāll spend with Slam if you put on a shield.
I realize that this applies to Execute and Whirlwind, but Iām willing to excuse it since Fury plays really nicely in BFA. There arenāt any other spells that work like Execute or Whirlwind (except maybe TClap for WW). There are plenty of Fury spells that works like a spammable or CDād rage-builder.
How can a Prot Warrior use Slam and Whirlwind unless Revenge and Thunder Clap see changes? Perhaps some of those spells will have equipment requirements?
- Thunder Clapās cooldown is not long at all, and both Revenge and Thunder Clap does more damage than either Fury or Armsā version of Whirlwind, so they couldnāt be useful for AoE, especially since Thunder Clap generates the rage you need for spells.
- Revenge procs often enough that there will rarely be a situation where you need to spend excess rage and deal damage in ST where youād want to use Slam over Revenge. And at that point, youāre doing it because Slam is 10 less rage for a bit more damage, and for a clunkier rotation.
Warriors, without stances, are gonna have a bad time dealing with many of these added spells, or will have to make macros. Either that, or itās time to implement a skill-bar and weapon swapping system a la GW2 or ESO. Stances would just be so much easier, and forget it clipping your rage when you dance.
I mean at least itās not a combo spender and it has a cooldown so no more spamming for the right rolls.
Hopefully the soften the RNG of it though, as if you can only cast it every 30s and you get horrible rolls compared to 5 rolls and stuff it could have a huge potential to just ruin your damage lol
Hunters:
MM and BM will have to see.
Survival any version from Cats to MoP would be better, return it to a ranged spec.
Warlock:
Affliction looks promising.
Destruction probably needs a few more tweeks.
Demonology needs more by far.
- Tyrant and Dogs need to be instant casts.
- Felguard needs more survivability.
- Warlock themselves have less survivability
than the other two specs. - Call Fel Lord needs more survivability
āThese abilities have had their damage buffedā. Probably one of the saddest moments in history for Surv lol
my guys mostly do WQ/lfr so i just played BrM. will be nice to play WW again though.
Hey. What about the GCD? Asking for a few million non-subscribers.
Nope, just more of the suck.
Wow, I do like these changes. Now Iām hyped for Shadowlands.
I may have missed it, but I didnāt see ritual of doom in the warlock changes list. Did the idea get scrapped? If it did, that kind of sucks, because it was always a fun ability.
Eyes of the Beast!
That will be fun again in PVP, especially if we can bump up pet damage when using Eyes like we could when glyphed for it. Looking forward to the return of the other hunter skills too.
Honestly there are only a few of the abilities listed that I actually would enjoy making a come back. Most of the āactuallyā fun and unique abilities arenāt even listed. Just because it has no practical use in a raid or a dungeon or in pvp, doesnāt make it any less unique and enjoyable to have. Iād list them out, but honestly everyone in the comments have hit the nail on the head for abilities almost everyone would like to see return.
You guys are about a week late for the April foolās joke.
Shaman needs Echo of the Elements baseline. Needs. If they donāt have it they feel clunky getting a Lavaburst charge requires you to interrupt whatever you were doing to cast it or risk blowing the charge with it proccing again. The talent needs to be baseline as it was before you guys randomly removed it.
Enhancement sounds ok on paper, though Iād like to see 2 handers optional.
Resto sounds like some nice changes.
Warlock Affliction changes sound good, destro meh, still probably pretty boring builder and the buff to aoe incin generation will just make it a mandatory pick.
Not excited for Holy Power Holy, Iāll have to wait and see how itās implemented, but I wasnāt a fan of Holy Power ever on any of the specs and still am not. Basically just combo points and boring.
Fury Warrior: Where is SMF, if you canāt find a way to balance it, then just give us the ability to transmog one handers on our 2handers. I have a lot of 1 hander skins I want to use very badly.
Shadow Priest: Please just do away with Void Form already. It is way too reliant on secondary stats, namely haste to be effective until you have plenty of it, by the time it feels like a fully function build weāre in patch .3 of the xpac and spent a year and half with a clunky build.
Druid: Iāll start with Balance, kudos on the changes sounds ok in theory, weāll see how it plays. I do remember finding the eclipse system rather tedious before, but perhaps it will play more smoothly with the changes.
Feral, weāll see, but Iām not getting my hopes up. Iāve been waiting to play a fun feral for quite some time, but it just seems to dig deeper and deeper into complex button rotations to get optimal damage that still falls short of every other spec while being much more complex. Who still thinks itās a good idea to have a huge chunk of our dmg tied to getting a full combo point spender to instant cast a self heal that for some reason also buffs our damage significantly, then build again rinse and repeat, while tracking multiple bleeds and cdās all while dealing mediocre dmg and having no utility comparable to any other classes that bring more dps and have an easier time performing that dps. Before this most recent iteration we had Savage Roar as a more prevalent requirement in the rotation that made the class even worse by delaying any pay off to building our combo points and waiting for energy to regen. We got to spend our first 5 on savage roar there goes one GCD of nothing, then tigers fury one more GCD, then healing touch another GCD, all of these boring dead seconds of play to get to our top dmg of meeting middle of the pack if weāre lucky.
Guardian: Why? Why take away our utilities that make us pickable for content? You did this under the guise of adding these back to the druid specs, but in effect took them away from guardian namely Typhoon and Ursolās Vortex. What did we get in return? Pretty much nothing, Berserk? Except it appears to be even a nerfed version of that with no fear immunity and Berserk was like lowest on my list of things I wanted to return. Rage of the Sleeper would have been much better. We also need Adaptive Fur back. And really??? Renewal? We need more healing? Somehow thatās going to be a good talent pick? What were you guys even thinking?
Resto: Sounds like solid changes and I look forward to playing it.
Hunter: Marks, I donāt think any of these changes were really things that were asked for outside of the general hunter abilities returning. The kill shot talent sounds nice on paper, but is it really going to be able to compete with whatever tier it is on? Weāll see. I donāt think the changes really address the problems Marks was facing with the clunkiness of its abilities. Iām sad that Chimaera shot is not returning, the WoD rendition was a solid ability. Also, more importantly, why is serpent sting, viper sting, scorpid sting, and hunterās mark not baseline? Why are all of our aspects not back to their original forms with no cd?
Survival: I just donāt know what you guys could possibly do to fix it at this point, and by the looks of the survival page neither do you.
Iām open to surprises, but Iām pretty confident making core tanking abilities available to all specs suggests 1h and board dps will be a thing. Dual wield 1h for fury? Maybe. But for sure, sword and board DPS is back.
That would make for interesting choices and game play, as long as we donāt go back to having to buy and carry ammo, and need a quiver. I like the idea.
How? They were available before but they werenāt good until a specific ability(gladiator stance) was added. Because a 1hander a shield doesnāt do much dmg.
Please Blizzard, give old Soulburn and Soul Swap, with the enhanced Soulburn abilities back to Affliction Warlocks! The change to Unstable Affliction was amazing! Put the cherry on top of the ice cream with bringing back those abilities.
Sorry to say, Iām not excited at all to see the return of holy power to all Pally specs.
My Humble point of view as a long time Death Knight
Blood
- Runetap is boring AF, please dont add as baseline, (?) maybe add a Overheal shield as Vengeance is getting?
- Increase blood dk armor. I am a tank, i really donāt understand why i have the same armor that my Unholy.
Itās almost impossible tank keys 21+ without getting random 1 shots - Bring Legion Consumption (Leech 4 Party) It iāll makes a preety competitive talent
- Bring Blood Mirror back (?)
- Blood DK always had low dps, and now is only relying on procs (twilight devs), increase damage, and maybe dancing rune weapon with 3 swords?
- Vampiric Blood with low CDs is preety cool right now
- Death and Decay with slow is amazing, but its only amazing when adds can get slows (BRING Tremble before me back <3)
Unholy
-
I wanna kill/ragequit and do some nasty things to the tank when he moves adds from my Death and Decay. Would be nice if we 're able to keep them inside (maybe some limbs grabbing adds to my DnD, or a Wall around the DnD preventing them to leave)
-
HAZZIKOSTAS SENPAI, Festermight needs to stay, make it a talent, the insane AOE is really cool!
-
Sanguine weeks is unplayable (MOVING AWAY FROM MY DnD!!!)
FROST:
I actually have no complaints, with 2 hands available the only thing that i think that should happen is Non Breath builds also be viable, ORRR
Make breath more easy to keep up (like bonestorm (?)
Just saying it again. Destro locks need work.
Cast incinerate while moving, even if its 50% slower move.
Rain of Fire needs to go back to just costing mana.
Cataclysm needs to be baseline, make that cost the āsoulshardsā.
Speaking of Soulshards, make Embers replace them.
Now give us Embertap back.
Baseline Shadowburn for Destruction with the two ember on kill still there.
Since pally keeps wake of ashes, whereās our demonic portals?
Bring back the growing fire aura around our character as we generate more and more embers.
I couldnāt care less about the useless curses. Thatās always an affliction thing. Iām happy you made affliction somewhat better and thatās great for them but thereās 2 other specs to the class donāt forget about that.
