Newly returned to WoW, why is gear so important?

Nope.

You speak the truth. :100: :+1: People asked for gear vendors to return and to remove any scaling.

Did you miss the entirety of Legion where cries for gear to matter in PvP was a common theme on the forum?

He wasnā€™t in charge of combat design before.

They brought him back to the WoW team after BFAā€™s rocky launch and promoted him from PvP dev to lead combat designer.

Weā€™re hoping he returned early enough to save Shadowlands.

PVP gear to matter. Not PVE crap on top of that. What has corruption, essences and mythic gear to do with PVP? Do you see players in raids wearing PVP gear and I donā€™t mean LFR?

Correct, instead of templates or scaling they wanted gear acquired from PvE to not be nerfed in instanced PvP. This would include modifiers to gear such as set bonuses in the past, and now traits and corruptions.

The same thing it has to do with PvE. Kill your target.
You might not like it but thatā€™s what it is.

In WoD, the last expansion with PvP vendors, yes.

Nope

Nope

nope we are speaking about BFA here.

Good talk.
If you ever have something meaningful to say then feel free to try again.

I did before your reply. PVE gear should not matter in PVP. PVP gear should not matter in PVE (raiding, high end content) which it does not.

They got one part of it right.

PVE gear does matter in random bgs if you want to play with no skill. A returning PVP player has absolutely no real chance of being competitive in an environment with so much to catch up on gear and corruptions.

Yeah you can float around at 440 ilevel (with pve gear on mainly ) and compete to a certain degree. Great fun.

Itā€™s as clear as day that this is what it is. Just curious, has this been confirmed or is this an evil that Blizzard tries to hide?

Watch this youtube video. This is the truth. Stoopz a pvp player showing players like you what PVP was about and the crap they are coming away with in SL.

Big Problem With PvP Gear In Shadowlands - How The Vendor Works

I leveled my DH to 120 on one day.
I got to 458 ilvl the next day along with a +75 neck and a +6 cloak.
If youā€™re struggling with 440 then I donā€™t know what to tell you lmao. Have you tried actually playing the game?

Iā€™ve seen it.
Seven minutes of Stoopz whining that the PvP vendor doesnā€™t have every possible combination of stats for every gear slot. News flash - they never did. I do find it odd that in the same scene that he is talking about PvP specific stats, like Resilience, he is showing clips of WoD which did not have specific stats. And, ironically, WoD is the PvP gearing model that so many on this forum want again.
It is also odd that he whines that PvPers may have to do PvE to complete their gear set and then not even a minute later saying that he thinks crossover for some gear is healthy for the game.

Piece of advice - donā€™t blindly sheep for streamers just because they put a camera in front of their face when playing a video game. Learn to critically think for yourself.

Sorry I will listen and support him over you any day. He is a PVP player.

There it is, blatantly ignoring something because it contradicts your opinion.
Lmao good luck with that :slightly_smiling_face:

Lol Iā€™ve played since the beginning. Iā€™ve pvpā€™d since instanced bgā€™s was a thing. I donā€™t really care about your PVE ilevel in one dayā€¦

Oh look, more rejecting something because it contradicts your posts.
Youā€™re adorable lol.

does this even qualify as a counter-argument though?

I mean you know, almost every other class have to press more than one button to deal half the amount of damage as a DH ā€¦ even Fire Mages with lolGPy

Lol sorry not going down your rabbit hole. Bye.

Well it does when you have a PVE players mindset.

An alt rogue, a druid, a paladin.
Do those count?
