New zone, Siren Isle/Arathi fans rejoice

I don’t understand Blizzard’s obsession with no flying. It’s been wildly unpopular since WoD. The only people who like it are the shareholders because it marginally increases the “time played” metric and then a couple of shills who don’t understand what immersion is.

This island is tiny, like really tiny.

You don’t need flying on it tbh.

It is about the size of Dornogal, maybe even slightly smaller.

I definitely agree with you more Horde content but please nothing with Thrall. There is nothing interesting about him anymore and is just boring and depressing. I would be for other cool orc leaders.

I found it to be a pretty unsatisfying ending.

We get the best of both worlds in my opinion. We get the challange of being able to do stuff on the ground without the help of flying but ultimately get the ability to fly later on so it doesnt become tidious.

That’s a great find.

Being on the ground is always tedious, never challenging, but at least there’s a way to unlock it eventually.

Though this island’s probably going to be like the Forbidden Reach where it’s dead after a month.

The issue with no-fly zones is they’ve historically been incredibly annoying to navigate. Nazjatar, the Maw, Korthia, etc. all sucked to move around. If the island isn’t a pain in the rear to get anywhere and every route isn’t blocked by swarms of elites, then I don’t mind it not having flying. But Blizzard doesn’t have a good track record with that.

Oh nice this is actually a relief to know! A lot of my friends were already considering skipping the content to wait for the main story to kick in.

Hopefully they reconsider after being done catching up to with their online fav series and other games that came out.

I’m all for generalizing making flying a late unlockable functionality. Flying (especially dynamic flying) makes the world feel so much smaller, even when it’s available from the get-go I always force myself to first explore the zone on foot or with a ground mount so I can better register it mentally, get used to it and grow attached to it. Makes the experience significantly richer, you miss on so much if you don’t do that

I think the compromise would be to make flying more perilous.

Add more units and status effects that can demount us. Have crashing head first into things deal damage, lethally so if at top speed. Make it so rocketing around the world at breakneck paces has breakneck consequences if you screw up.

Funnily enough Blizzard did do that in patch 8.3 with the flying worm snakes in Uldum and the Vale…

And there is a reason why that does not happen anymore.

WoW community is weird.

“We want X”
‘gets X’
“We actually don’t want X. Blizzard are stupid for putting in X. Who asked for X?”

I used to routinely point out people just want to skip content to the reward and don’t actually like playing most of the game, but that went over about as well as you’d expect.

And I loved that patch. It made the skies feel legitimately punishing and gave you lasting punishments for hubris.

That’d be even more fun now when you could get like those big squid guys in Beledar to chase you around. If you get dismounted you’d either have to have a slow fall ability ready or stock up on slow fall items/toys. Then you’d crash land with like a 3 minute timer to take flight again.

You know make traversing the world interesting. Then just make the boring flight system immune to all of this for people who want this to be a mindless grind.

I would totally opt for the safe, boring and mindless flight called Steady flight. I’d rather enjoy flying at my own pace, over suddenly being dismounted while flying and dying over it

Decidedly no fun in my book. But that’s just me :dracthyr_nod:

it does seem to me that there are definitely certain zones i can think of where i am glad to have the option to fly, e.g. thousand needles, revendreth, highmountain, but it does otherwise feel like a bit of a mistake. i like bene’s idea of making flying a bit more proactive; the quickness of the travel would then have some requirement to be earned.

Do we really need flying on such a very small island? Already having fun with more zones on the main land with flying. So one small island isn’t really going to hurt the fun.

Tbh, TWW has been aesthetically similar to BFA in many aspects, so it fits.

Orweyna acts as if the Voice speaking to Magni is a Goddess.

With the reveal of multiple Crystals like Beledar which Anduin noticed the Radiant Song originating from combined with Automa Oracle Saezurah from Zereth Mortis claiming “Her dreams sing beneath the surface. Quiet now, but her voice will awaken the others.” suggests that this Goddess has been sending out her Song from Beledar through some communication relay in the other Crystals to awaken her brethren in said Crystals.

N’Zoth in the Past during Thaldraszus’s Time Travel Questline claims this Goddess’s Song is his kind’s dreams and Song. He also during the Uu’nat Raid stated that she is not the last but the first and that drowning her will allow us to see.

So… Any theories on the Goddess?

My theory ties into the Stained Pamphlet mentioning the veil between Dream and Dreamer sliding away like skin from bone and Azshara’s K’thir Cultists talking of dreaming only to awake.

Azshara’s Cultists speak of dreaming only to awake when dying while N’Zoth’s Cultists are all “Feel my power!” and “All will be consumed by the Void!” and on top of that Void harms Azshara on contact.

I suspect Azshara is a Reincarnation/Avatar of this Goddess of Light Orweyna speaks of that she assumes Magni is in contact with(as opposed to Azeroth) which is why her Cultists speaking of dreaming only to awake whenever they are killed while N’Zoth’s Cultists only speak of power and the Void.

Furthermore the Damp Pamphlet speaks of an Emerald Dawn due to the Crooked Serpent with no Eyes.

Yes… I definitely think Azshara not only used the info that Xal’atath gave her over possible Candidates for the Dark Heart from the Prophecy mentioned A Song of the Depths to find one that she thinks works to her benefit but that Xal’atath also made sure that Azshara getting the Dark Heart works against her leaving her blind and Undead while forcing her to give up the Goddess’s Sigil(Eye if the Goddess is the same type of Entity as Xal’atath considering Xal’atath calls the Naaru Brethren) that’s the true source of her Arcane Prowess in a way that doesn’t sever her from the Goddess but disconnects the Goddess from the Sigil/Eye.

I suspect Azshara Avatar of the Goddess of Beledar will be the Final Boss of the 11.1 Patch while the Goddess corrupted with Galakrond’s Necromantic Death(and freed from the Void thanks to her Avatar keeping it all inside herself before dying) will be the Final Boss of War Within itself.

Said goddess is most likely just azeroth herself

Undermine deserves better then being a mega dungeon so I am glad we don’t Go to Kezan.
