New zone, Siren Isle/Arathi fans rejoice

When I read ‘Siren Isle’ my mind immediately went to this isle covered in creepy mists. I imagine hearing the song of mermaids followed by the sound of drowning men. I think seagulls flying over a bleak port, skeletons galore. I imagine pair of eyes in every dark place and shadows dancing on the corners of my sight that vanish when I look into them. I imagine a cold, melancholic place where dreams faded into mirages of dead men and blood turned into dark ink.

And then they give us effing Arizona or something

so, are just some of the arathi joining the alliance then?

some of them use blood elf models with the shortest possible ear length, probably for that reason. they don’t have a purpose in either faction, so my guess is that blizz is either gonna write bad lore, or else this exists for purely cosmetic reasons.

Alternatively we shall be meeting some Half Elves.

  • It seems there would be no flying on the Isle.
  • Depending on how the story goes, the returning figure could be Orweyna.

One step forward, one step back.

I hope they at least give the option to unlock flying eventually. I can get behind the idea of them wanting the initial experience to be somewhat restricted, but the no-fly zones become such an absolute slog when that restriction remains.

Honestly I feel like they just had a bunch of old assets lying around and figured doing a mini content thing like this would be neat. From the look of it it’s not going to be some earth-shattering lore exposition but the patch equivalent of a big side-quest.

I’m up for it. I’m still enjoying just doing the expansion but it’s nice having a thing like this as an option and I hope they do it more often.

I’m late to the discussion, but people thinking Thrall won’t get Doomhammer back cuz it was an artifact weapon when another artifact weapon was not only highly relevant the very next expansion, but is also now the main villain of the story arc is hilarious.

Thrall’s finally going to become a proper enhancement shaman and dual wield Doomhammer and his Axe. It’s only a matter of time.

Woh more customizations means more flexibility for RPG personal story and immersion in WoW!! (IMO)

Hmmm the no flying… it’s not going to land well with players, specially when the expansion actually let you fly since the start.

Even if they give an RPG reason like in FF14 where you need to unlock (study the aether air currents before you can fly, which is super annoying but very immersive if your into the RP aspect of a game) people who are focus on gameplay as much as story won’t be happy, I hope they really reconsider or allow for fast unlock IF the devs are being force or told to create artificial means to increase the engagement/time playing metric for does exiting excels and beautiful chart yet again or they don’t want the secretes to be unlock to fast, but that’s just wishful thinking in WoW, where even before or as content is release we have guides and add-ons ready to assist getting everything as efficiently and fast as possible lol… Then again this is just speculation in my part and it’s just a normal theme in online stuff… D2, FF14, ESO, GW2 has versions of similar time sinks. :person_shrugging:

Alleria hinted she was going to get back her old bow, boom she got a different bow instead.

She does tell Marks hunters they can keep her bow until the day she asks for it back.

She just hasn’t asked for it back at the moment.

Yeah, if she isnt asking it for one of the greatest threats in the world(and literally changing her entire outfit to boot to make it so the weapon doesnt even match anymore) I doubt she will ask for it again.

I mean, just because 1) She changed outfits and 2) Hasn’t asked for her bow back yet. Doesn’t mean she won’t in the future.

That’s the thing people forget. Just because something hasn’t happened, doesn’t mean it won’t ever happen. Not that I’m holding my breath on it happening, but it’s just something to keep in mind

She wasn’t being played by Uma Thurman.

That doesn’t really have any bearing on any other character.
