New zone, Siren Isle/Arathi fans rejoice

BFA turned Horde identity into being unified about being sorry for doing an oopsie genocidal rampage again. Apart from that, Thrall throws his axe a lot, randomly blurts out “I WILL NOT LEAD THE HORDE!” and Baine is wildly racist against helpful centaur who have a very bizarre fixation on how great daughters are.

Geya’rah occasionally shows up and channels all the masculine energy the Horde men are now allergic to, but gets no actual development herself.

Oh, Gazlowe is so awesome he can somehow become ruler of a whole different cartel.

Should probably add that I played a lot of Classic. The Horde is still great and holds up there.

Unlike what some posters claim for Night Elves the Marouk Centaur are mildly matriarchal.

“We’ve both waited for so long~”

What sanity?

Fat chance of that happening. :eyes:
Best case scenario will be the Horde as side-characters.

If any Horde characters get so much as a hint or strong whiff of a sole-shining moment or ‘Horde-races only’ cinematic / storyline — You’ll suddenly have the Alliance simps up in arms, ROARING at how “biased” the expansion is, and how the game has “Too much Horde-favouritism” etc. :face_exhaling:

At this point, we just gotta accept it: The Horde is dead.
There’s only 1 major faction in Azeroth, and that’s the Alliance.

The Horde is a minor faction in-comparison, merely there to help assist them and ensure the Alliance can flex their stupendous might & spotlight in all their glory. :person_shrugging:

i think probably classic was when i really stopped liking the direction of the horde politically (or qua political entity to be annoying pedantic) around mists, but then mists was when i really stopped giving a fig for the faction conflict. i just think that was when the horde assumed the mantle of, like, ‘least-worst bad guys’ for the franchise, which they just kinda felt like they sustained to dragonflight when it stopped mattering. legion and warlords had a lessening of that, of course, but they were also just not focused on faction identity as much (in my memory, at least)

Eh, I’m absolutely not interested.
Oh well, not everything is for everyone.
Nor should it be.

I was very not pleased with MoP, then WoD, then BFA directly undermining the idea that the Orcs were only bloodthirsty warmongers because of their Fel corruption.

Moira’s Mjolnir scene was priming you for when the hammer politely escapes your grasp.

I’m just glad they decided to not at a 5th human race and made it cosmetic instead.

I kinda just stopped thinking of my dude as a Horde character and just a free undead doing his own thing.

What’s the story beat of the island?

Also a bit bummed this means that the undermine is less likely

Unless they be saving that for its own expansion

It was used during the Fourth War by Kul Tiras to mine azerite, but now everyone has gone missing. The goblins found a giant crystal on the island (they showed it in the video, it looks like a smaller Beledar) and take us there to investigate. The Arathi and earthen are also establishing a base on the island to look into the crystal. Naga, vrykul, and pirates are the enemies.

What if it’s like. ME2 collectors deal and the ascended nerubians are snatching humans to experiment on with the black blood?

I mean, humans are the most populace race on Azeroth, if I was going to make an army of mind-controlled mutant drones out of any stock, I’d choose humans just due to how abundant they are

Beledar transported an entire fleet underground, so maybe this one did something similar

I wonder if these pirates will be part of Captain Nightsqualls armada. Which we saw parts of in the Forbidden Reach.

Yeah, I’m not a huge fan of how often they lean on the “machinima” cutscenes nowadays. We only had two real cinematics over the course of TWW’s launch. One at the beginning and one at the end.

BFA’s launch not only had multiple cinematics, they even had multiple full CGI cinematics over the course of the expansion.

Even Warlords of Draenor had more cinematics.
