Probably, but fortunately they have plenty of time to work on that as they are still in pre-alpha testing of the game.
The guy funding/creating it is insanely rich and is able to fund it out of his pocket, he’s said that many times. It’s funded right from his pocket but of course they will add multiple ways to fund it as well, almost all games have multiple funding sources.

Like it’s very mediocre. It would be better off being a single player game.
That makes the founder packs even worse, he’s charging $500 for one of the packs. Most games that have resorted to using founder packs to support their game have fallen on their face.

After playing the New World alpha for a bit, I’m excited to play it. I’ll also still play WoW. I don’t know why it has to be one or the other for some people. Nothing will kill WoW- the MMO genre isn’t nearly as popular anymore for healthy competition. That doesn’t mean another good MMO won’t come along. Playing a couple of MMOs at a time helps me to appreciate the best of what each has to offer.
I honestly think so many people on here would do well to just take a break from the game. This forum is an echo chamber.
If people are so hyped and will pay that much, that’s how the world works. That just means the game has people so excited that Intrepid Studios is able to charge those prices. Capitalism.

Though to be fair, with all the testing you have access to, you’d probably be pushing a year and a half of free game time if you think about it.
Or it means a fool and their money are easily parted and he’s trying to take advantage of those people.
For that price I’d expect a lot more. But it’s par for the course when it comes to companies trying to support their game with founder packs. Overcharge for crap hoping they get enough fools willing to open their wallets in hopes of becoming wallet warriors.
The guy put down $40 million of his own money to fund the game… Yeah… he’s trying to support the game with founder packs…

WildStar was awesome.
It had a horribly buggy launched because the people in charge wanted to rush the launch to make money sooner. The first major update fixed most of the games problems and was amazing, but they had already lost too much money because of the launch
