Is it really that intense? Their recommended settings are lower than WoW’s. Heck my PC is under WoW’s recommended specs and still runs it on custom graphics at over 100fps though, same for FF14.
Is there an issue with New World, or are people just talking about maxed graphics?
There are threads on their forums / reddit / EVGA forums about people with (specifically EVGA) 3090’s literally shutting down in the menu and never recovering.

Oooh you meant specifically 3090s lol. I misread your statement and thought you meant unless you HAVE a 3090 because it was intense.
I’ve seen other people complaining about needing a strong PC to play it. I haven’t tried it myself.

Game started development over 20 yrs ago. It has a really old engine and they do very well with what they use.
Texture painting for thousands upon thousands of armor pieces is not “lazy” you probably have no clue how that works at all.
Carry on though, with your “WoW sucks! But I pay for it!” Trolling though.

The game looks great but I’m not interested in a PvP focused game. I know the game has PvE quests and dungeons but everything I’ve read and seen really seems like PvP is the focus.
I read it was killing GPUs. Hopefully, you don’t run into the issue when playing it.
i play it on my laptop and my monster pc run nice and smooth.
so bug here and ther but nothing worrying.
im lvl 18 doing my faction grind i got the first complet set of armor and weapon from it, working on my next.
the grizzly boss is kewl but Huge but rewarding.

I think the only one being cynical here is you. Not sure how you got “jaded” from anything I said, you likely do not know the definition.

my only negative aspect right now of new world is the faction.
they all fight againt the corruption but love hitting each others. i understand the games was created with pvp in first place but let be real, in the beta we have more pver player then pvp right now.

I just hit level 12 in NW. It is such a breath of fresh air - it actually FEELS like an MMO.
You need to craft, trade with other people, interact with others in the world and… be very careful whether you flag for PvP or not lol.
It reminds me of a hybrid between Runescape (for the MMO and crafting aspect) and Witcher 3 for the combat system.
the game don’t feel a instanced thing.
i see so much people complaint about walking and having no mount in the games lol.
the map himself is so tiny and u gather stuff while u go the ur quest zone.
