500 per soul over would be nice. If you keep capped that 10k per week.
Let’s be honest, how many people actually care about anima enough to be moved in any significant way by this 500 weekly anima announcement?
We go back to the question - “is it fun?”
Shadowlands is just not fun. No amount of bandages on a gushing wound will stop the bleeding. We need major surgery to close it up.
I’m fine with all of this taking a while. You’re right in that it’s meant to be something to take long to do.
But at the same time… don’t make Renown unlocks something exciting like getting new transmog, when they know full well we can’t afford it yet.
It’s like telling a child they can earn a lollipop, then flaunting it in front of them as an exciting reward that they can’t have yet.
That’s assuming they won’t also add more timegated and rep-gated rewards that also cost exponentially ridiculous amount of anima on top of grateful offerings or whatever yet-another-new-currency with those patches.
I think reward really should either be timegated, rep-gated, or cost some currency — what they’re doing now is a giant abomination of all three. It feels terrible. In previous expansion, if I hit exalted, I can just go buy exalted reward. Now, hitting exalted only means you still have a long way to grind before you can afford one thing from the vendor, also at the expense of your sanctum upgrade.
Should drop the same on all difficulties. This is supposed to be the “casual content”. Higher raid tiers already get way better gear. That is good enough.
I’m just happy that I can fulfill my fantasy of being a unmerciful Hero of Azeroth even in the Shadowlands as I sacrifice souls for my own benefit. They should have considered rewarding Anima for TC completion as well. Give it another purpose.

Yeah, TC is a complete waste of time to me. There’s no real incentive.
I’m in a state of wanting them to expand on TC to the fullest extent, but I also want them to immediately stop working on it if it’s going to be a Shadowlands only feature.
I pretty much forget anima exists outside of the weekly quest to get 1000. No desire to grind it out, and just thinking about the amount of anima we need to get everything is depressing.
Honestly, I’d be happier if it was Shadowlands only. I greatly dislike this type of content, but I understand others enjoy it. I won’t ask for it to be left behind, but I won’t be sad if it is.
I would want it as an optional leveling route. It has the perfect framework to be something so much more as just a solo experience similar to the Brawlers guild. They could reuse old art assents and rotate it weekly with themes and appearances.
My disappointment will be vast if they wasted all that development time only for it to be Shadowlands only.
Well gotta start somewhere I guess =/
Hope this leads to something better.
Maybe a Mercurial day? (58 earth days )
Don’t even get me started on the Venerian day…
