New warning for PvP servers is amazing

In case you are unaware, there is a new warning when you go to create a character on a PvP realm, and you must click “I agree” to continue.

The box basically states you will be under constant threat from the opposing factions, GMs will not intervene to help you, and you will not be able to xfer to normal realms. They also highly recommend you join a normal server if you do not agree to these terms.

I cannot wait to throw this image into ppls faces that complain about PvP on a PvP server .

“omg we cant get DMF, make DMF a sanctuary zone, level 60s shouldnt be able to target level 20s” blah blah blah.

You agreed to it. Now suck it up!

Hell yes. My future undead rogue loves this.

The amount of crying, especially on PvP server discords, is so incredible.

“well i only rolled this server because of my friends”

not a good excuse, suck it up, reroll, or quit.

There probably won’t be much of that. The only reason people complained in SoD was because the poor design allowed for camping the common turn in NPC in a fishbowl situation where there were no other options. Not doing incursions was akin to leveling by grinding boars.

Era is perfect for a pvp server because if you get camped somewhere, simply go level in another zone. It’s a big world.

There absolutely will be much of it. Always is.

Dude, there is always a ton of this. On every fresh ever.

TRUST ME. Ppl will go nuts. They ALWAYS do.

I remember playing MUDs and one that I eventually played long term allowed you to flag as PVP after a certain level. The amount of crying when lower level PVPers were picked off by higher levels (as there was no level restrictions whatsoever) and then had all of their belongings taken leaving them truly naked and weaponless was insane. I even flagged a character PVP once just to see what all it entailed. The game gave you three warnings beforehand. The first to give you all the details concerning the decision to flag as PVP, the second to reiterate that the decision is irreversible and the third to ask if you are absolutely certain. All of those opportunities to change their mind to no avail.

I’m with you. I have no sympathy to spare for those who roll on a PVP server and then complain when they get precisely what they signed up for. My first toon was on a PVP server and I quickly discovered it wasn’t for me. Been rolling PVE ever since.

My orc rogue is frothing at the tusks.

Yeah, im like 90% leaning towards PvE server this time around. Ive done the PvP thing… it just simply isnt fun anymore.

Glad there is a warning though so ppl actually need to think about their decisions.

Ive enjoyed being on a PVE server for SoD.

Being on a pre-WoTLK PVE server also lets me put my Horde main with Alliance alts and my Alliance main with Horde alts, so I can power-level myself (which is what I previously did with my DK alts).

So you’re a tool and wanted everyone to know. People that camp DMF are the lowest of the low there are few I hate more than them.

If you pick a PvP realm t his time, and expect to get DMF without issues, i have a bridge to sell you.

I can promise you that there will be all time camping at DMF on these servers. Especially with Dual Spec now… oh baby its g onna be a blood bath.

TBH this warning still isn’t good enough. People will still click through it, then cry on the forums when they get camped.

They need to force people to type “I LIKE DYING. PVP IS NOT FAIR AND I LIKE LOSING” and then it allows them to accept.

You best roll on PvE now if that’s how you feel. It WILL be camped.

What’s wrong with talking about one’s own frustration with sociopaths on their server? You’re allowed to be one, but that doesn’t mean everyone has to like you. A pvp server just means you have the ability to attack the other faction. It’s not a mandate. Nor is camping a mandate.

It’s like saying “Yeah I’m cussing out your 5 year old because I have free speech”. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should. And there might be blowback to your sociopathic decisions. Deal with it.

I think the difference is that its well beyond “talking about” to where it pushes towards “we need to adjust the game”

There are often demands made on these forums, especially around DMF time, about how its not fair, it needs to be a sanctuary city, server balance, class balance, PvP tuning… etc etc.

Well yeah those people should be laughed at if they want to change a pvp server after it launches. But there’s nothing wrong with talking about ideas on how to make new servers that allow for open pvp within level ranges or something. People will talk about that, and it’s fine.

PvP servers definitely have that fun juicy drama. But im well into my 30s now, i simply cba to care that much about it anymore.

There is everything wrong with that. Ideas like that are how War Mode happened. If you don’t like being flagged for PvP 100% of the time, you should be on a server where you can turn it off.

Or a server that only allows pvp within 4 levels of each other, and you can’t turn it off. I understand you like camping lowbies so that isn’t for you. Cool. Other people might be interested in talking about it because they have actual skill. It’s not warmode, but whatever.

Also, I think pvp servers are fine. I just understand the rationale behind discussions exploring alternative ways to go about it, so basic skill becomes a prerequisite.
