New update for MDT makes you pay for maps

Nevermind. Hopefully when you get older the public school system won’t fail you.

I wasn’t aware TSM is hiding any of their stuff behind a paywall. Haven’t used them in a while, so don’t know.

I just use a second monitor and use the dozens of route websites that were already better anyways

I mean what’s stopping someone from either remaking the addon, or just spreading around a pirated copy?

It’s ok man, just take a breather

You’ll calm down and realize buying stuff means its not free

I dont think the TSM stuff counts cuz that stuff behind the paywall is more of a service. they sort and distribute the info available for the desktop client. atleast thats what my premium thing did on tsm

It’s mainly used for m+. It let’s you set-up your kill list so you can have the exact amount of mob kills needed.

tbh it could be done with a desktop client and just run it on 2nd screen. Someone would just need to have the skills and the time to do it

It’s not as flagrant as an actually function-less addon that requires subscription content to do anything at all, but it’s definitely gray area all the same.

you can. But do you know how much % each mob gives you? I know I dont. Yea you can go to the internet and copy some1 else’s route. But sometimes you have specific mobs you want to pull and not to pull. Also sharing it w/ pugs are good to have as a discussion.

someone has to pay for the hardware running the system keeping the files updated and the bandwidth used. honestly I see no issue with it just like paying for raidbots premium there are lesser versions avail but agree addon in game shouldnt be pay to use i for real was just arguing with those guys for fun just to argue lol

TSM has a paid services but I don’t believe it actually adds anything to the add on itself.

I think it’s things like automatic updates, beta priorities.

A grey area maybe, but not exactly missing out on any in-game features.

Bring down the ToS hammer blizz, there’s always another to take his place (and already has)

It is indeed against ToS to require payment for the use of addon, or use of a
Premium version of an addon.

If the addon was free, with the option of a donation made available, all good.

Locking the addon behind a donation requirement, is not so good, and very much against ToS. Report it, whether in web ticket, or Technical / CS forums.

And for context here: the current addon shows no mob information in the dungeon at all, has no way to add it in yourself, and requires you to paste a long string of text given only to paid supporters to get the functionality back. It’s 100% against TOS.

It’s against the ToS for sure, I just don’t wouldn’t know how to give that information to Blizzard.

It has the great deals function for a per server basis. But overall the necessary price information for almost all people is covered with just making an account and downloading the desktop application.

I think Elvui also has a paid version for similar things like TSM, basically automatic updates and such.

I think Blizzard is okay with paid services if the add on itself is free and the paid services do not add anything to the addon functionality.
