Which is why I’m fighting against people who think Torghast layers should be locked unless you achieve Blizzard’s weirdo delusional criteria of “gold stars” or “timers”.
Let layers be unlocked if you complete it. Don’t lock out people out of mandatory content which changes their gameplay.
The soulforge torment is gone so you’re already a bit happier just off that. The new affixes have much more counter-play.
We don’t know what “Tower Knowledge” rewards. There could be some kind of capper that gives you more sustain from killing stuff.
This is an area that players ought to give Blizzard feedback on though. If your class has bad sustain for solo Torghast, let Blizzard know. Because whining “just don’t do it” is not valid. Saying “do not do it” when talking about something that opens up potential balance issues… it never works.
But I just want to be clear, you really do not have to go that fast. People are envisioning M+ or Visions and it really isn’t like that. If you want to eat biscuits for 20 seconds after killing a double elite pull, you can happily do that. It’s really not that extreme.
An argument which would have merit if you actually knew that you couldn’t meet the goal by just clearing everything without too many deaths. None of the information provided says definitively that it will be any harder to do the ash giving part than it is now.
After you max your legendary, is there any reason to keep running this? Scoreboards? Achievements? pets, gear, transmogs, mounts?
I really don’t think adding stars and a personal run tracker is going to fix anything. Torghast was boring because each class has a really binary power setup with very little variety, and the only reason to run it is to store up soul ash in case of a meta switch.
Apparently our interpretation of problem is different. Based on the provided info I have no reason to expect that my experience in tg will be any different than it is currently, and I’m someone who takes an hour to clear layer 5 or regular tg.
Not if it turns out that I’m wrong, then it’s a problem and I agree that shouldn’t be the way they go, but I’m not diving into paranoia because it seems unlikely that that will be the case.
By the way I understood it, you could either speedrun it or take the full clear approach and both would work. Normally I like full clearing rogue-likes, though if I’m playing as a sin rogue my wc is garbage so just rushing to the boss and beating him down sounds great. As my Guardian Druid, I can take my time, explore and get everything. Both ways work…
When you complete any of the above objectives such as killing a mobs or freeing a soul, the bar will go up. However, it’s important to go quickly and do things as fast as you can as the bar will slowly tick down.
This looks like the system they wanted to implement in the beta, but I guess they ran out of time. They’re basically taking elements from Visions in BFA and adding them to Torghast which I don’t mind.
OK, you are right its a speed run. Rush through at max speed. Nevermind the people testing it have said that that strategy has never given them a 5 star. Yet killing everything and scoring all of the souls and urns has been more effective.
