New Tinker Class would make WoW more immersive

It’s honestly a bad taste in my mouth that Blizzard respect demon hunter lore enough to make them only night elves and blood elves but here y’all are trying to throw Tinker lore under the bus.

WoW is 10+ years and the only tinkers we’ve seen are goblins, gnomes and broken(which isn’t anything like the goblin/ gnome counterpart)

Respectfully, I disagree.

The reason you see so many blood elves on Horde is twofold:

A: They’re the ‘pretty’ race.
B: They have access to the most classes (all but Druid and Shaman).

Opening up all classes to all races would to functionally matter VERY LITTLE to Horde. Void Elves are big because of Elf Hype. People have wanted Alliance Helves for god knows how long, and VE are seen as the closest thing to it. You’d still have your HMPs, your NE holdouts, and the furries sure as hell won’t change (WORGEN TAILS WHEN BLIZZ), so I don’t actually think we’d lose much aside from, well, Human players that secretly want sharper ears.

Buddy, if I had the option, every single race on the planet could be DHs. Hell, Pandaren ought to be Demon Hunters because OUR FACE IS ON THE DAMN WEAPON.

Notice they took away the shamans turrets over the years, possibly to open the concept for tinkers

Yeah and that’s a problem, some races shouldn’t be certain classes.

Like a lightforged can’t be a monk because being a monk not only requires you to follow Pandaren faith but also using the element spirit inside of you.

Lightforged draenei strictly follow the light and their body is imbued with light, no spirit inside them.

Just wanna mention, orcs in particular make for an amazing fit for tinker. They have a rather surprising aptitude concerning technology. A lot of their tech is borrowed from goblins (or in the case of the fel orcs, demons in outland), but they have shown they are very capable in using said tech and are no strangers to using tech in combat. It’s really not a stretch for them to become tinkers.

Zandalri has every class but Warlock?

You can teach an Ogre to use technology, doesn’t mean they have the intellectual aptitude to be a Tinker.

DH. As much as it’s hated, it’s still a class.

Technically incorrect, some people (like the scarlets) were able to teach themselves.

All living things have spirit inside of them, Lightforged are no different.

Every single class is the result of training and in some cases a path of faith, attunement, or devotion. There is no reason, none, that a member of a race that has put in the time couldn’t learn the particulars of a class. Zero.

I think it’s a bit narrow minded to say there are none who are capable of it, especially since the orcs as I mentioned have a surprising aptitude towards the use of said technology.

I’m also under the assumption if Tinker were to become a class, the lore would be expanded on. No one could become a monk until suddenly they could back in MoP.

Void Elves will never get paladins, normal Orcs will likely never get priests or paladins, Draenei and Night Elves will likely never get warlock.

There are several combos that will never, or likely never, happen. It isn’t just about training, it’s about their culture and even biology too.

Culture is a pointless argument, you can buck culture for a single individual extremely easily.

Biology can be worked around as well. You can just learn to ‘deal with it’ like a Death Knight does or Undead Priests do.

Yeah but those are still humans with spirit within them, not light elementals that Lightforged are.

Yeah elements are very living but made purely of their element. This is incorrect

That’s not how it works. They still have spirit inside them.
Do you think Void Elves have “void element” inside them?
Cuz Void Elves can be monks.

Void elves are tainted in the way orcs have fel in them.

They aren’t like the process of becoming Lightforged

Lightforged were infused with Light, Void Elves were infused with Void.

It’s the same thing.

I also want to emphasize this. Ever since WoD, the PC has had more and more importance / prominence placed upon them. And ever since Legion, we’re entirely unique and have only become increasingly unique since then.

Whatever is common of the culture of a certain is bumpkis. It doesn’t matter. We’re already special and unique within the story, it shouldn’t matter if say, most orcs wouldn’t become a paladin. It’s still possible for them and it’s not completely out there given we’re already special. Who’s to say an orc within the Argent Crusade wouldn’t be interested in picking up the ways of the holy light while swinging their hammer?

Culture is not a good excuse at all.

Tyrithan Khort was a stromgarde born human. And he killed trolls by the Hundreds. Thousands even. He learned to speak Zandali from the trolls he killed.

And guess what, he wound up being best friends with Vol’Jin and Vol’Jin even saved his life.

A big message in Warcraft 3 and WoW is that your race and your predecessors do not define you.

WoW is a silly universe and people need to remember that.

Don’t get me wrong, WoW is Epic. It can tell great stories of action, miserable falls from grace, and epic tales that everyone remembers.

But WoW is also a universe where Orcs are Aliens, there’s a semisapient race of gold plated robots fiting a War.

A universe where Mecha-chickens are a common occurrence. And where exploding sheep are a boss battle mechanic.

I don’t care if another class is added as long as it isn’t a melee class… as for being immersive meh… DKs, Monks and DH never had any impact on my immersion.

Blizzard’s prototype for the class had:
Ranged DPS
Ranged Healer.
Melee Tank. (Sort of. They still equipped a gun, but the Mech suit worked like a Druid Shapeshift, where it overrides your weapon)
