There was nothing more satisfying than running in with a giant cannon and hitting the ground target aoe on commando that launched multiple projectiles to heal. It was like a healing artillery strike and I loved it. I also enjoyed the ammo/heat gauge mechanics.
And venting heat and seeing your armor just smoke was amazing. That or reloading, hearing that sweet sweet clunking sound of changing the plasma barrel.
Man, tech base classes are always my go to in mmos.
Another damage to heal class. But this one uses blood.
Played a ton of games that used this concept where you sacrificed health to cast spells or heal, and found that enjoyable too. Most recent one was a little indie rpg that had feat that converted all spells to using health, gave you a big health bonus, and sent you on your way. I liked the high risk/high reward gameplay and the careful balancing between will this lead to my death or can I recover what I lose in time?
lol that is what people have been asking for for warlocks as healers. Drain healers while using their health pool and the enemies. Right up there when Meta was a warlock thing and people wanting warlock tanks.
They gave us demon hunters instead lol.
I think some machinery is fine of course, but Iâd argue thereâs too much of it in WoW already IMO.
More the idea that itâs a caster imbued with the power of all the flights. Itâs a novel idea for a class, at least in terms of WoW.
I donât think they should feel forced to implement a âmajor archetypeâ if it doesnât line up with the story.
They do for sure, but we havenât really seen what makes them different from normal engineers. Just because a class already exists in wow lore doesnât mean they have to implement it.
Lol youâre going to hate the undermine or what Gadetzan is in the lore. There is more industrial revolution type cities than not in the lore now.
Oh look its the same 3 or 4 other users from the other tinker post spamming this thread too.
No.
I would like to know whatâs your opinion when u are done reading the post. Ty
Look whoâs talking XD
Oh look, same few naysayers here tooâŚ
What do you think of my idea tho?
I would like to see any type of advices and interactions.
If they are still making all classes for all races than tinker would have to be for all races and not just a few. Makes no sense to release it if the overall plan is to allow all to be it. Might as well do it right from the start.
For tinker I think turret based combat like Heim from LoL for DPS, mech suit tank spec and grenade throwing heal spec. Iâd also like dual pistols with maybe some acrobatic dodges. The dodges are just there for flavor but the pistols are a definite want from me.
In some post years ago I had wrote up a slightly more detailed response to the three things listed above with even more abilities/skills but not about to go look for it.
Yea thereâs quite a few of them.
So maybe its not a good idea? Just a thought.
Did you like the ideas I had?
Havnât played lol so dont know waht Heim does.
The skills sound good but I prefer my tinker to be dual pistols so having auto attacks being melee is something I would not be into. As a tank mech suit spec sure but not as a turret dropping dual pistols DPS spec. Could always do like hunters where the spec changes which weapons you can use with tank and maybe heals having the melee option.
EDIT: Of course if it got four specs like Druid you could give tinker a melee spec with a lot of up close and personal gadgets like oil slick which you can than ignite or flashbangs for CC or some kind of acrobatic corkscrew attack where you charge the enemy and jump in the air only to slam both weapons into the enemy and spin around from top to bottom dealing damage. Some weird, fun stuff like that.
I think your ideas are well thought out and I wish you could be in my DnD group to see what character youâd come up with. I particularly like your tank build. However my opinion has nothing to do with your design.
The issue with a tinker class goes beyond that. People are fatigued from the aesthetic, they want something new. Hope to see more of your posts in the future
Ty man. As u can see my main interest is on tinkers. Iâve been waiting for them since a lot of time, thatâs why I choosed to develop this class here.
Idk if I would be able to do so on other type of characters tho haha.
Anywais thank you for saying your honest opinion.
Since WC2, which is what introduced me to steampunk as a teenager. Currently replaying the remasters and reminded how much I loved the sappers and submarines and such. Would like to know why WoW doesnât have the subs and sea turtles with rockets on their back. Or really any of the naval stuff other than the destroyers. Isle of Conquest might be the only place that references the oil collection.
I am down for an Artificer class. Tinker is a terrible name. I will die on this hill.
I think wow has too many classes to balance as it is, the more they add the worse it gets.
