Idk, maybe it’s not working as well as they want it to.
It’s just the only reason I could see them putting in the effort to do this.

It’s just an old tier set. This isn’t a challenge mode. It’s an ugly old set that fell victim to a raid revamp. There was never anything special about it until weird players twisted it into something it’s not.
For all eight pieces, so 350k a pop. Compared to most BMAH sales for these, that’s a steal for a few pieces like helm and shoulders, and give or take average for most other pieces (like hell if I’m paying 350k for bracers, though).
That said, not a huge fan of it being class locked. But I guess that’s the trade off for zero RNG waiting for it to show up, and zero competition. Seems like the middle road Blizzard tried to strike in keeping some value in the BMAH versions.
I’m not going after this but this isn’t some mage tower thing, it’s a literal price for vendor mats. If you go do the earlier steps, vendor mats should never amount to this point in the millions. It’s just not justifiable other then they want to drain your gold.
Don’t forget you have to crafting order someone to make the piece for you and pay whatever they charge - and crafting orders are not cross realm yet so you have to find someone on your server
This whole thing is nuts. The unlock for the special instance of Naxx should have just unlocked the original. That wouldn’t sell tokens, though.
The best part of that is the crafter needs to have a FoS from 2006.
Or I guess they could’ve earned the armor afterwards?
The art direction in Vanilla is all over the place.
They could charge 50k a piece and it would still be worth it for like 5-6 pieces. But I doubt the prices will be that high within a few weeks, people will do discounts for bulk crafting orders, etc.
You can also get the pieces on the BMAH, but I can imagine most people skip bracers at a minimum, and pants for cloth wearers. The new way of obtaining T3 is less accessible than the BMAH, which defeats the purpose.
The warlock one is pretty iconic, but if the crafted pieces are class locked then I just can’t be bothered.
At least maybe this way the BMAH pieces will be easier to get now
If you’ve bought a full set via the BMAH you get the achievement.
350k per piece is still completely nonsensical when you not only have to do a whole “attuning” hidden questline to even unlock the alternate Naxx instance to even farm the other mats yourself for these pieces, but you also need to already have a FoS for a full T3 set ANYWAY on your acc or know someone who does (which is gonna be near impossible or scalped to high heaven on low pop servers like mine where there’s probably like 10 people with such a FoS.
Blizz effectively spent hours of dev time for this complete nonsense bloated and stretched out goldsink when the T3 sets had already been a simple goldsink on BMAH for decades, but refuse to put any dev time into content or features that more than +/-5% of the playerbase will actually benefit from anyway. Even among people with the gold to blow on this, how many actually care about obtaining even 1 T3 set let alone all of them? I guarantee even among players like that this going to be a pretty niche feature …
I mean with CM sets they said they’d be going away after that two year period.
I mean I paid at least 350k per piece so I don’t entirely see the issue.
Congratulations blizzard you successfully tried to design a fun new system to make an old set more obtainable but somehow made it even less obtainable how the heck are they this incompetent???
The majority of the playerbase was very much led to believe this entire system was going to be a change to make these pieces significantly more accessible than dropping millions on the BMAH like what we got in 10.0 with the return of the removed Zul’Gurub mogs
Instead Blizz gave us BMAH prices with 10x more steps. This whole system literally helps nobody. If you already have millions of gold to throw at mog pieces, you either A.) Already have any T3 pieces you cared about getting or B.) Will end up spending the exact same amount as BMAH but with significantly more legwork for you to get someone to craft these for you since they made having the T3 FoS a requirement to craft these pieces in the first place and will be willing to craft these are just going to upcharge you just as much or more than the pieces will go for on the BMAH anyway.
Literally the only people that win here are people who already have all the T3 they care about and will just scalp anyone who will try to utilize this new system lol
No they weren’t? The interview with Ion said it was going to be extremely tedious and not nearly as easy as ZG.
“Hypothetically speaking, if this were to be a thing in the game, we would take a much more judicious approach to availability of these crafts as to opposed to something like ZG.”
The only ones who can do the crafting are the ones who already have the T3 sets so this is 100% accurate.
No you get the feat for buying it off bmah at any time (doesn’t require ring)
