New talent trees

I’m a trash noob so take what I say with a grain of salt, but the amount of talents in Feral centered around Tiger’s Fury seems a bit excessive.

That is also very true, good point.

It also highlights that they are not going to change anything related to dmg calculation and we should expect to have the exact same damage profile as of today - 50% from bite, combo point generation abilities do 5% (almost nothing), bleeds combined - 10%. So miserable, I was hoping them to change it to increase damage outside of big cooldowns.

So in my ideal world, all abilities (especially signature like cyclone, hibernate, mighty bash, kick cast) should be baseline, and talent trees should only affect your gameplay and how you want to play, mixed with some really powerful abilities like berserk or convoke.

Talent tree should just include nodes that affect your playstyle: old tier sets, procs, damage style that you want to use (e.g. bite build vs bleeds), Leader of the Pack and some minor things (like tiger’s fury % dmg boost and similar).

Having 90% of abilities that we have now spread in a “brand new talent system” is a nonsense.

I’m not entirely sure that’s the case. Half the reason our bites are so fat right now is due to Convoke… more specifically, due to Conflux the Elements and Niya’s mastery buff during Convoke. Neither of which are returning. Without those I don’t see Bite commanding anywhere near as large a share of our damage profile. Especially if a build involving Circle of Life and Death becomes meta.

The trees have ways to make a bleed-heavy style. Very confused ways that are all over the place, but they exist.

Not true at all, we don’t know what builds we will be using yet or what our damage profile will look like. Also I’m sure the numbers on almost every talent in the tree will be adjusted over alpha/beta and so on.

No need to be a doomer yet. I agree the Bite damage profile is tired and dull, but there’s a lot of cool DOT options in this tree.

Given their past history of “listening to players’ feedback during alpha/beta” I just assumed that its almost the final version of what we’ll get.

Hopefully they make some changes and give more reasons to bring a feral druid as they basically don’t exist in group content these days, make the raid buff feral only or add something else to bring feral over a boomkin for once.

Is Iron Fur given for free to guardian druids or do they actually have to chose it?

You have to choose it. Guardians only get Frenzied Regen and Thrash for free.

I resubbed for 6 months after seeing the Feral talent tree. Finally, I can do builds that I dreamed of in Shadowlands. Keep up the hard work Blizzard. Looks great so far.

So I thought about it a bit and honestly I think the best path for the Feral tree is to just ignore Berserk and Convoke and grab everything else. Lets you get Bloodtalons, Circle of Life and Death, Draught, Savage Roar, and Lunar Inspiration. Ignore Infected Wounds and Fearful Symmetry. A very management-heavy build that doesn’t have any DPS cooldowns longer than 30s.

Berserk is barely worth being a 3 min CD. It’s DEFINITELY not worth it when you split it up into 2 individual talents (3 if you count Frenzyband.) The Incarn talent is lol and is locked behind waaaaay too many garbage talents to be worth it.

Convoke similarly is not going to be worth 4 points since if you drop it you don’t need to get Infected Wounds or Fearful Symmetry. That at first sounds ridiculous but then you remember that this is baseline Convoke. So no Niya Grove Invigoration. No Conflux the Elements conduit. No Night Fae Legendary. It’s a lot worse without all those things.

Left side Druid tree is fine. All the situationally useful utility (Hibernate, Typhoon, Maim) is easy to flex on or off and it’s pretty easy for us to pick up a lot of new utility that we didn’t have before like Innervate, Ursol’s Vortex, and Incapacitating Roar. Remove Corruption is really the only awkward piece of utility for us but I don’t think that’s such a huge loss.

It does mean Feline adept is doing basically nothing though. When are we adding Rebirth back into Cat Form like every other Druid spec?

Guess you weren’t there when the abomination known as prot-holy was dominating 2’s in Wrath.

They were holy paladins that had a bunch of prot talents to make themselves basically unkillable while dishing out insane healing.

Just read all the Guardian stuff and daaamn!!..All that sounds amazing!!

I wished they made this trees interactive to know better what paths you can go down and have a better idea, but either way a lot of really incredible choices for Guardian drood.

Mentioned this essentially in GD but the changes these trees will bring will make the guardian mage tower WAY easier if anyone is still having trouble with those.

I spent most of Cata doin exactly that.
Most notable fights include:
spine, zon’ozz, shannox, halfus, conclave

Not sure what game you were playing.
Hybrids were crucial to those fights.

Did you?

If you pretend that BFA and SL were the only two expansions, sure… I could see how that would shoot over your head.

I am an avid supporter of class buffs and think it adds great flavor to the game. Keep it up blizz! Welcome back MOTW

Best part of old mark of the wild was the stat buff. This isn’t that. The damage reduction is nice but… meh.

Call it was it is

LotP-lite with pseudo stampede.

What did you link to me lol? We are discussing “talents” that are just a copy paste of what we have in shadowlands, and you linked me logs from WoD.

With these “talents” we will have the exact situation in Dragonflight again, where bleeds are completely useless and bites are 50%+ of our damage.

My feedback is I am disappointed, that i didnt see any meaningful change in both balance druid or feral and its basically shadowlands but in talents.

I was hoping for a rework on balance and something to feral but yea just nothing. Without a calculator its difficult to gauge whether or not these are good talent trees and if they are going to be giving us less abilities and will prune us yet again.

I still See the Problem that our major dmg cooldown as feral (berserk) is 3min and did. Not offer dmg on rolling bleeds (and moonfire of you Chose). Thats a Major concern for a long time and one of the reasons why berserk is so Weak. Put something like 20%dmg increase and bleeds Deals its dmg 50% faster would make it a good CD.

Other concern is: Casting Cyclones as feral is still super hard sometimes because of lacking haste (worst Stat allways) and the fact we have to shift out of form.

Looking forward to Test things when i get to Alpha/beta.
