New Sylvanas novel available for preorder

Right? I thought we’d get some disabled rep, but I guess that’s just too inconvenient to being a main character. Woulda made a good story of him actually struggling for forgiveness and test his ideology on a personal level but I guess he really had to slap that troll down so we know he is High King.

Patty Mattson is the genius tool that Blizzard is using to get Sylvanas fans to even touch this book.

I remember Kaleaon having these same sentiments about Nathanos, too, because of Shadows Rising.

Nathanos went down like a boss, he robbed Tyrande of her “moment” and got everything he wanted out of that encounter.

Not exactly a great example from you. /shrug

Also he’s clearly going to make an appearance in the story again. He’s a Chekov’s gun at this point. So again, not the best example from you.

You’re confusing me for a poster that claims Blizzard writers hate Night Elves.

You were convinced Blizzard was going to have Nathanos live, and they wrote him off in a bid to appease Tyrande’s fans.

Blizzard also is the greatest ever at leaving Chekov’s Gun to rust on the wall. It’s one of the largest complaints around here.

That’s true, and I was wrong he did “die” in so much as anyone dies in Warcraft these days. But he still had a lot of character development in Shadows Rising that remains unresolved, he still went out in style, and he died in an expansion where death literally means nothing in the overall scheme of things, so I’m still pretty confident about Nathanos’s overall fate here.

He’ll be back, like a boomerang.

Well that pie in the sky confidence is what I was talking about, yes.

Okay let’s imagine a scenario wherein they kill off Sylvanas and Nathanos permanently at the end of 9.1 which is about…a month from now?

And then they expect players and Sylvanas fans to buy a book in 6 months for a character that is already dead and by dying as a raid boss unceremoniously has alienated them from the franchise…

Yeah I don’t see that happening. I was born on a day, but it wasn’t yesterday.

Given that they’re getting Patty Mattson to do the audio book it will probably still sell even if that is the case.

Oh it will sell no doubt, it will probably crack the top 100 on Amazon before the end of the weekend. It’s already at #221.

So much for the “I’ll never buy a Sylvanas/Golden book” crowd.

Indeed. I own the literal pop-up book version of the burning of Teldrassil. There will definitely be Sylvanas fans who will buy the book even if it amounted to an autopsy of the character.

Even as a fan of Sylvanas I found that pop-up book to be a little extra…

Although there is something funny about Blizzard seeing it as such a blaise thing that they turned it into a pop-up book.

Not to mention Blizzard’s burning of Teldrassil at their autumn party back before they started having to work from home. Some people just like dark humor.

Truer words have never been spoken. It’s one of the shortcomings of using a serial format to tailor the story to audience reception.

I’m with you 100%, but I’d still buy it no matter what, because I’m not waiting two years to get my WC novel fix rather than the usual one year. It could be about anything. Addictions are crazy.

Free will but only if they choose the Horde

She’s David Kosak’s waifu too.

Kinda shows how much they love Sylvanas and hate the Night Elves.

By the way, The Gathering took place at a time when souls were going to the Maw. Sylvanas sent those people to suffer for all eternity because they chose the Alliance instead of her (or for that matter, even considered the Alliance instead of her.)

Everything that Sylvanas has done post-Legion needs to be considered in that light. She knew exactly what she was doing and what would happen to anyone that she killed either directly or indirectly and she did it anyway. It’s actual Burning Legion tier atrocity.

Blizzard seems to hate Tyrande as much as they love Sylvanas, I don’t think that was to appease Tyrande fans, but to send Nathanos to the Maw (Nathanos himself even says similar).
