New Skyriding vs old world flying options are worse now

I could be missing something since these are all new changes but at first glance, the new skyriding mode isn’t working how I thought Blizz said it’s going to work.

With the first news for the xpac, I saw the 5s cast to switch and thought that is much worse than now. Before the patch, I could have a dragonriding mount and a normal mount on my bar and switch to normal when I needed it for a 1.5s cast. Then back again to dragonriding with the short summon cast.

Then I remember seeing somewhere in interviews that we would be able to select the mode of each mount. When I heard that, the 5s cast time seemed fine then. I could set a mount to be steady and mount to be skyriding and get the same experience as before patch with more mount variety.

When I log in today, it seems the 5s switch is global for all mounts. I’m thoroughly disappointed. I prefer dragonriding but there are cases where steady flight is needed. Having to switch the entire mode with a 5s cast time to hover over something and then do another 5s again to switch back is way too long.

I would live but I don’t have to like it.

I would love nothing more if someone can point me to the options per mount and call me silly

never said anything about that or people would not have made the threads about the cast time

Why not just ask blizzard for a cheat code to phase through walls?

People really want to buy a game just to skip everything in it.

It never ever was “per mount”

Its all mounts.

The only thing I could maybe offer to help here is one thing I read somewhere. There were a few mounts ( I apologize I don’t remember which ones) that were unable to have dragon riding added to them. So maybe there is a list out there of these few mounts and perhaps you could use one of those for your regualr flight ones. I know this isnt what you are looking for but it is a work around.

at the moment the ghost otter but if i recall once you swap to dragon ridding the otters stays on the ground

How often are people switching back and forth that this is issue? I use old flying once or twice per session

I’m not sure if I’m allowed to link youtube videos.
However after a quick search the video is called 21 mounts that won’t be receiving dynamic flight.
I hope this helps.

Ohh my gosh! These people! Are playing the mmorph entertainment product wrong.

Help me! Help me! I don’t understand! How could they!

Lol. Yikes. This whole guy. Yikes.

It depends man. I don’t complain if speed runners are using cheats/glitches to midmax super mario 64.

But if the average player experience involves skipping through walls and going out of bounds to skip difficult obstacles then that is obviously bad.

That’s why I advocate for systems that restrict flying (to dedicated players) rather than systems that remove flying.

Thanks! I found a vid that seems to match with 21 mounts but all of them have dragonriding atm. And the otter doesn’t fly as Mythosaur said.

I guess I must have imagined that interview or that person misspoke.

It’s unfortunate.

Why not ask blizzard for instructions how to troll?

Is it possible to block accounts on here? I can’t find an option for it.

What, you don’t think disabling unit collision is comparable to static flying?

Because I think it is.

Yea you gotta click on their profile and in the upper right will be muting options.
