New Skyfury locked longer than opened. lul

Skyfury is not a mega server, but a new server, that was locked about two weeks into its opening.

It’s now been locked much longer than it has been opened to the public.

A new server. Not a megaserver.

How does that sound right on paper???

Locks have nothing to do with how new a server is so your issue is a complete non issue.

There is nothing wrong with a server being locked more than it is unlocked. So long as the lock is doing what it is meant to keep servers the size that prevents the ques mega servers have. It’s in fact the vary thing players have been saying to blizzard of why did they not lock mega servers pre getting to that size. Sky being locked as well as other realms that where getting to that size being locked shows blizzard is at least learning thou slowly but dw they will forget once the intern leaves for the new one.

It was still inevitably a big bait by blizz just to create a new server then surprise us with a lock and not even let us transfer for 3 months nevertheless.

Not bait at all. Not being able to transfer was publicly announced.

The lock is exactly what players asked for them to lock realms getting near mega server size to prevent long ques exactly what sky is.

Not seeing how them outright telling you one part and then doing what players want and something they used to do on there own is bait. Which also even had a blue in advance that the lock was comming to realms with no notice if they got to that size.

Aren’t all servers on the same player count capacity?

I’m on pagle, we get queue once a week of 20 players. We’re a full server.
I under the impression that “mega server” simply implies 20k queue and how there are just more unique players. if I’m right, then every “full” server is technically a “mega” server. But I could be wrong, idk.

Yes they are if full. The idea of the lock is to keep full servers at full server size (same active player amount but low to no que) not allow them to get to mega server size. Making them have long ques.

So no not every full server is a mega server they are servers that would become mega servers if left alone for more to join.

The purpose of the lock is to make sure the server doesn’t get to mega server size.

I do not envy mega servers players. Being stuck in queue SUCKS. Wouldn’t wish that to biggest forum trolls.

I wonder if Blizzard should just make an executive decision and slice it half. Half guilds on 1 server, other half on another server. Split guildless toons same way 50/50 give or take. Same account/IP toons go over together.
Like, if servers are 15k capacity, and queue is solid 15-20k at peak, virtually, splitting server in half will not make any difference in online player count.

Glad skyfury is locked, keep it locked. Fresh, not-ruined economy. Good world PvP with representation from both factions. Tons of people to group with, a fair amount of competent players. It’s been perfect - no way it’d stay this way if the opened the flood gates.

Even when they unlock it, I genuinely hope they don’t allow transfers in as that would ruin the economy and likely faction balance in one way or the other.

Many of us would pref the que vs them doing that. As the que is constantly getting better eg all Monday I could play with no que while last Tuesday prime time was only 7k not 12k. It’s already to the point of another 2 mabye 3 weeks likly will be a healthy level from raid loggers. Wouldent want to see the server cut in half only to reduce the amount of players active outside of raids making it harder to do things. This is why mega servers are likes you can do things at all times as likly a ton of players around. Raid times are spread out at all hours of the day so once raid logging the realm can handle the amount of players and gives your options of when to play and have players there to play with.

Those that what the ques can leave many are quite happy with the que as means the server is quite healthy. We just deal with it via remote log. We would like the bots banned thou that would fix the que alone.

I hate to be that guy, but this is too good to pass up.

RDF would solve this problem.

No it wouldent.

As once raid logging those players don’t want 5 mans more often than not they want the raids there guild is not doing.

Rdf dosent get me into 10 man naxx.

Nor dose it help me get glory as the groups made with rdf just want to get it done and often are not the comp or skill needed to do glory.

It helps with it most def dose not solve it.

I can’t remember, are the 10 and 25 sharing a lockout? I thought they were.

No they do not

I did all raids full clear on 10 and 25 this week and are now 3 items off full t7 bis

Well, I honestly thought people who were clearing in 25 would just pug 10 if they wanted too. I’m sure the realm discord will have pug sign ups. Although, I guess I can see your point if you’re on a smaller realm. Probably not as many pugs going.

Yes but to pug you need a large realm if you want to do it quickly with good players not trash alts at the time of the day you want.

Rdf in fact makes that harder. As it makes it more likly for people to not want to stay on the realm reducing the pool of palyers. While making you see less good players to keep track of that are useable.

We where one death this week of undying in a pug as can make good pugs on a mega realm rather easy.
