So will this new policy protect buyers who get scammed by fake guild etc or who dont follow through on the agreed carry?
The original post did not say that.
The sky isnât falling.
What are you even talking about?
Telling people to use a specific channel isnât discrimination, let alone OCE discrimination.
Wait ⌠so In Jan. They said
âAs of today, we will now prohibit organizations who offer boosting, matchmaking, escrow, or other non-traditional services, including those offered for gold. World of Warcraft accounts found to be in violation of this policy are subject to account actions. These actions can include warnings, account suspensions and, if necessary, permanent closure of the disruptive World of Warcraft account(s). Organizations operating across multiple realms and excessively advertising non-traditional in-game sales are contrary to the terms and conditions of the Blizzard End-User License Agreement (EULA).â
And in a just a few months they make a channel specifically to do just that because they are to lazy to enforce their own rules, while leaving up the old sticky ⌠So special, much wow.
I remembered that too. I think the minor distinction, fwiw, is that they are banning âorganizaitonsâ that offer boosting services, but that the presumptively benign individual boosters are still allowed to advertise.
Either way, the main incentive for RMT is still tolerated and itâs no mystery that Blizzard welcomes RMT-based subscriptions.
Surely you jest? I thought trade was a political channel. I get the real news there.
Good to know the LFG tool is still plagued by {WTS} groups that are up for 5 days or longer?
I donât think Blizzard really wants or likes RMT transactions actually. The problem is that thereâs a huge swath of the world where someone will work REALLY HARD for $5/hour, and itâs presumably very easy to earn that much or more through shady RMT business.
That said, I do wish theyâd just drop the hammer on any RMT, gold selling/buying, boosting, dungeon/raid escorts, etc. Ban anyone who sells the runs OR buys the runs, gold or not. Players should publicly ridicule each other for buying raid escorts.
The raid escort business puts a huge wall in front of new players and makes them think they need to buy a few escorts to gear up enough to get into groups on their own. Itâs a major problem that gets worse and worse over time, as people quit playing and a lot of newbies give up instead of replacing them.
Maybe they could explai how to use this channel.
/leave trade
/join trade
But now what are they called and is ther a toggle of some kind for chat now? It would make sense.
So youâre making it easier for pay to win services? People buy wow tokens then pay groups to boost them through content. Why are you being so dumb blizzard just cut out the middle man and let me buy mythic gear and legendaries directly.
Id be willing to be a 100$ that blizzard is in contact with these boosting groups and helps organize these boosting groups to encourage people to buy wow tokens.
To claim a character
Great! I just got scammed 750k gold for 3 Fated Heroic raids from an advertiser posted in the trade services chat yesterday. Submitted a ticket and the estimated time for a GM to respond to my ticket is 26 days.
Theyâre not making it easier. This was already happening. What they did was separate it into its[quote=âStearclear-agamaggan, post:92, topic:1307494, full:trueâ]

own channel so trade chat wouldnât be flooded with it and people who werenât interested didnât have to deal with it.
I think there is a lesson here somewhere, but Iâm really dumb and canât find it! Maybe you can help me?
So I read over this policy numerous times before I created one of our Guild recruiting macros. Still got reported by a Carl or Karen. Nowhere in the macro does it offer any form of services nor does our guild website.
This is the macro: /2 [Guild: Project] 1080p 60 FPS streaming Discord (Boosted) for all members, G bank repairs for raiders. For current needs, check-us-out here: website://project-guild.com/recruiting
Is there any violation here? I cannot find one.
How often did you press it. The definition of whats considered âspammingâ is variable, based on how you interupt others chat windows.
I post 2 macros about every 10 min or so
Also you are requesting others to goto a website for more info, you could link an ingame guild listing or change is to pst for details.
Twice in 10 mins can be considered spamming depending on how busy chat is on your server - there isnt an exact x amount in y time. If players report you enough, you get a auto squealch and a gm will investigate and either overturn the squealch or action your account.
General rule of thumb is if you think it might be spamming, it probaly is.
I do not consider it spamming with all of the âanalâ fill in the blank, other guilds recruiting, amongst other things. I try to make sure that I have to scroll quite a ways before I see my pervious post. As far as requesting to go to a website, there isnât anything in violation there. We are not selling anything nor asking for donations on the website; it is only information about the guild. Most ppl interested, and we have got some good ones, do PST me and I have a conversation with them.
Not really asking for advice, but rather if I was in any clear violation.
This isnt the point. Your fellow players feel its spamming and each âcaseâ is looked at individually. Did your account get actioned (email stating a ban or reason, forced to log off) or was it squelched (auto respose to being reported a number of times by multiple players). You will understand if you broke a rule due to a permant action on your account. The temp squelch is a temporary tool to prevent further spamming/damage.
