Blizzard says chit chat is OK in the Trade Chat Channel, but Boosts/Carry sales should be in a different channel. That sounds good to me
I do not buy Carries or sell them. But I do chit chat and banter in Trade Chat. I think of it as trading barbs and witticisms.
I am so down with this… for the moment - but the name seems short sighted. They really should change the name to like :
There are many options to name the channel. But the name they chose… Services…
When Dragonflight hits, professions are being mentioned as a feature Blizzard is focusing on. Will people be offering their Professional Services in Trade Chat or Services Chat? Or both? Trade Chat seems like the place, but the nomenclature is a bit muddled.
I am happy with it - just think the name is a bit off.

So me offering myself at goldshire for gold is considered spam now in general?
Account share is called piloting and is a no-no. It’s not boosting. Boosting is only done in a group, whether pvp or pve, in which you’re just a warm body and everyone else in the group are carrying you.
In some cases, they’ll even ask you to kill yourself at your earliest convenience so you can’t be targeted by boss mechanics.

I thought this was called carrying? Why are there two terms for boosting/carrying if they mean the same thing?
You literally just added another chat for people to get banned on…Instead of adding a new chat channel, how about deleting Kara, Mech, and Gorgrond dungeons from the M+ pool and putting back the Shadowland Dungeons. I am really considering deleting my account after 15 years of play becasue you keep choosing to never handle the issue at hand…
Carrying can be done for free, like you carry this dead weight in your raid group that is the raid leader SO or something. Boosting is always done with gold trading hands.
What do you think this is, a game where people are intended socialize with others? No, this is pure esports. You’re here to win at all costs.
They don’t want people carrying their friends. Those people should pay for carries from professionals.

And well lo and behold all my characters are in the channel. So damn stupid.
The chatting general config ui doesn’t even accept you permanently removing yourself by clicking the button anywhere except the cities (a visually more intuitive leave option). But it’ll readily accept you leaving general/general defense/lookingforgroup anywhere.
And yea I know the chat command, I am saying that look at all the people typing “wave at gor’goroth” in chat. They won’t understand chat commands.
Honestly, I am mind-blown that this wasn’t the process that was put in place instead of nuking all of the boosting communities!
As a former booster, and one who hopes Blizz will walk back that policy to allow cross server boosting communities, my amount of logged in game play has drastically been reduced. My interaction with multiple new people on a daily basis also drastically reduced. My overall gaming experience took a major hit when Blizz took those steps. Now, boosting is limited to specific groups, which is really a crock, considering there are so many boosting communities out there still doing their thing, just in a manner that skirts the TOU.
Blizz, bring back cross server boosting and let us use the new channel to do it!
im confused it says selling outside of trade services will get you in trouble but in the support post blizz has it states this it must be advertised in trade only blizz cant make up its mind on its own policies lol…
Individuals and guilds selling items and profession services for gold is allowed but can only be advertised in-game through the Trade chat channel.

Abuse by those communities was egregious, with multiple level 1’s continually spamming the same ads every minute of the day.

Does the new policy apply to classic as well? I know we do not have the new Services channel, but can we clean up GLFG?
Thanks
i don’t think anyone realises what this means lawl.
Who are these people actually buying boost services man I really, really don’t follow
The Benediction server is still full of bots selling in the lfg channel, doesn’t seem like this update did much to stop this, tried reporting but after losing count it just felt like a job. Thier needs to be a GM watching these channels if blizzard wants to crack down on them.
I hate the new channel it’s so obnoxious its just another sh** talking channel.
What is Trade Services channel in game?
Trade is /2
how about you keep to one of your old policy and stop discriminating against OCE!
Of course not. They have not done anything about it in the years wow has been live why would they do anything to make gaming a bit better.
It would be nice if Game Masters did more to correct the spam/trolling/etc in trade chat.
Oh well one could hope.
