Not a single good ret used that ring. Not on launch not before it was nerfed, not at all.
Yeah but you’d assume a shiny new item you’ve been given at the end of a patch would at least be worth using, and then get better.

It was for most specs. Some specs simply didn’t benefit enough from the procs compared to raw stats of other rings.
Except that was not what they said. Here are the exact words they said literally yesterday,
“Our goal here is to make the ring a clear choice for the remainder of Season 1, as well as keeping it relevant in Season 2, where it should compete with Heroic raid gear and be replaced by drops from the Mythic raid and high M+ dungeons.”
The ring is not that right now. If you are losing out to 626 loot by a wide margin you are not the clear choice.

11.0.2 Version roughly equal to a 421 in pure single target but awful once any additional number of targets was added. Equal to 408~ ring on AoE, so awful.
Given how little of modern WoW is actually single target, nobody really used it.

Yea, i was actually sad at the time.
I had been looking forward to a cool unique ring, but it was just flat out a downgrade. Kinda felt real bad when i saw others using it and I couldn’t.
No, this is not the same as Forbidden Reach. We could fly in Forbidden Reach day one.
