Ad long as you could get Crowley’s dual pistols, I’m in.
Make them melee capable as well like in a mech suit for one spec. The rest? Ranged spec and then a utility cc spec/buffs. Also, throwable bombs and grenades too.

No. Wait.
Think about what you just said.
If they were engineer themed, they would’ve had gizmos, and portable transmog stations, and mount equipment.
Those are things that engineers make
Instead. They had mech suits, missiles, healing grenades, turrets, heal bots. Etc.
Those are NOT things that engineers make.
Again, NPCs do things we can’t. It’s always been that way. Just because a NPC engineer can make things we can’t doesn’t make them a Tinker.
I’m not sure how this would work mechanically? Would engineers have specific pistol weapons?
Either way it sounds cool and I’m down for it.
I think the specs we’ve seen represented in game so far are clearly divided into tank, healer, and Ranged dps.
But since this is obviously all theoretical, I think a melee spec could work. Just that it’s unlikely
The idea of a tinker class just seems so lame to me. Worse than bards even.
But they are literally using the Tinker abilities from Warcraft 3. Mechs and Missiles.
Tinkers are part of the universe and have been for 16 years. Unlike bards
Not sure what you’re hung up on here. The simple fact is that all the things that would be core to the aesthetic and ability rotation are already common and widespread in the game. There is no reason that some “heroes” wouldn’t arise who use these things to fight for Azeroth. The engineering profession does not cover that, nor would they step on eachothers toes.
Didn’t say they weren’t part of the universe, just lame as hell.
Tinker’s already exist in WoW.
How do you not know this.
I think Warlock is lame as hell. So I just don’t play one.
I don’t go and tell people that warlock is a bad class and shouldn’t have been added. I just don’t play one. Tinkers are the likely next class regardless of what you think
If you think tinkers are lame. Then you probably shouldn’t play one.
I think they’re awesome and will play one.
Plus it would create weird situations simply due to balance reasons.
The quest lines where the player uses GMOD would be super OP but then the Tinkerer would have this mech that is only as powerful as other players. It’d make zero logical sense. Whats the point of having a mech if it doesn’t even do anything.
I get what you’re saying. That’s fine. I still hope they don’t get added though. Options are cool, but sometimes they can detract from the game. Not always, but sometimes. I imagine it’s more of a personal taste thing. Kinda like how people a have varied views on high elves.
Think about how many absurd situations like this exist in the game and no one cares about. I just slaughtered an army of Naga in Nazjatar by riding a spinning turtle shell into them. Why didn’t we just ride those turtle shells into EP and wipe out every enemy in the place? You are suuuper reaching here using an argument like that.
Watching Jaina raise a ship from the bottom of the ocean, fly it to Undercity and create a full broadside of arcane cannons didn’t have me suddenly thinking that my class was pointless and shouldn’t exist.
I really don’t see how this could detract from the game.
Will it make your Void Elf Priest less good somehow because someone plays a Gnome Tinker?
Now THIS is grasping at straws Dude.
We’ve played as a lot of things during vehicle quests. Even got to play as Illidan at one point.
That has nothing to do with class design. It’s silly to claim otherwise
That doesn’t even connect to the point I’m making.
You would have Two different situations now where everyone has these Tinker quests and then you would have actual tinker classes. But when you are on the tinker quest your OP but when you are the class your a wet noodle.
Bottom line is it would detract from those quests, They would likely have to remove them just so the tinker could exist.
Thing is
Jaina was doing those things another hero was. Not you the player. It’s not something you experience.
It does connect. Quests constantly have us taking over temporary sources of power that are absurdly OP compared to what the players can do. How many times have you taken over an animal that could annihilate things that a hunter’s pet couldn’t one shot? Was the game broken then?
Nah, I just think that seeing a bunch of short stacks running around in iron man suits sounds stupid. Personal opinions are crazy aren’t they.
My demon Hunter is a weak noodle compared to the quest where you play as illidan.
It didn’t make me hate my class and they didn’t remove that quest.
This is completely rediculous Dude.
Yes. Galywix’s mech is overpowered for lore reasons. It’s powered by an Azerite core.
I don’t expect a tinker class to be that powerful. That would be absurd.
