New race/class combinations in Shadowlands

Would love to see some new shaman races. SW human (can be taught shamanism by Kul Tiran allies, human shamans in twilight hammer, etc) or void elf shamans (believe there is some lore about shamans using dark energies to control the elements, but most importantly it would make a nice contrast to the blood elf paladins)

Alliance really does need some new flavor when it comes to shamans, I would love either a human or void elf option.

I feel this way but about paladins. I like my human paladin, don’t get me wrong, but I really want a worgen paladin.

The Alliance needs more variety in paladins, the way that Horde gets such wide variety in shamans, since paladin was the headlining Alliance class the way shaman was for Horde…

They’ve been neighbors with the Amani wildlife for so long, makes sense to me for the most adaptive class to adapt to their surroundings.

Take a ride thru the far-eastern Ghostlands.

Giving this another nudge. I’d love new race/class combinations, especially since Blizz isn’t giving us any new classes, to give me an actual reason to play through the new leveling experience.

demon hunter is locked to the elves because illidan taught them at a specific time.

I concur. At the very least giving each core race 1 new class combination would be great.

Night Elf paladins and Worgen monks would complete me!

Definitely agree on the BE druids

but to balance that with the other faction, there should be VE druids too. This would sort of be parallel to the Kul’tiran lore of druids keeping balance of the cycle of death rather than focus on life.

I think what would make class combos feel even more satisfying is if they treat it the same way they treat allied races in general. Like make people work to get class combos. Doesn’t have to be a reputation grind but maybe a whole campaign or something special.

I want another race to be able to be a Demon Hunter. Mono-race classes are never a good idea and I don’t wanna be a friggin belf.

I could see orcs and draenei being DH.

I have been saying for years that Undead should be able to be Paladins since they can be Priests.

At the very least all the elf races should be able to be DH

I feel this way about druids

I RP fairly heavily on my server and even I would be open to all of these class/race combos. The lore matters, but the lore can evolve as well. This world was created by Blizzard and I feel like they have a right to change and tweak things about it as they go along. We’re just along for the fun ride, as far as I’m concerned.

No, hell no, yes please, and no way in hell.

VE and UD paladins are as believable as mechagnome druids.

Yep. Confirmed members of the Illidari. They’d fit into the existing starter experience.

I could have sworn Illidan tried making orc DHs and failed because they couldn’t survive the ritual.

What about Man’ari (Horde) and Broken (Alliance)? The Horde can’t be mad at Man’ari for killing Draenei since our core race did that and another thing I could have sworn I read was that Velen forgave the Broken, or something like that.

Just a thought.

Most Elves pop, too.

That being said, I’ve never seen anyone provide a source for the “only Elf” stance. Just that “widely-believed fact.”

No, no I’m not part of the “only elf” bandwagon. That’s old DHs because Illidan was a xenophobe back then.

I’m saying for a new crop of DHs. Man’ari and Broken have been working closely with demons and the Legion for thousands of years. I just think they would be a better candidate.

I think they tried with orcs but they weren’t able to control the demon within and were overtaken. I do think the Draenei or Man’ari would be great candidates for more demon hunters. I’d also wonder if the Forsaken could be candidates for it. Or possibly Tauren, their demeanor seems to be able to control most corruption rather well.
