I guess bolvar’s daughter doesnt matter what shes being set up as?
Wrathion isn’t half dragon? Dragons can just take mortal forms.
Trust me, as a Human we know a thing or two about Black Dragons.
Tin foil hat theory incoming. I Have no proof.
The Dark Iron Dwarves are so freaking awesome because they we’re originally conceptualized for the Horde.
Hear me out here. In the Dark Iron Questline, you have to stop a rebellion of Dark Iron that are rising up because they think the Council of 3 hammers is unrepresentative and unfair. (Which is a completely fair claim to make, by the way. It’s a representative democracy, and the Dark Iron get almost no say, and their “Representative” isn’t even from their clan)
You work with Moira Bronzebeard to squish the rebellion. And the Dark Iron Dwarves remain unhappy, unrepresented on the Alliance. This always felt sorta wrong to me. There’s no happy conclusion there.
What if, the Dark Iron were Originally going to go to the Horde, Abandon their unfair council to join a group where every voice has a say. Where anyone can become leader through rite of combat.
Not to mention, the Intensely Clan focused politics (and racism) of the Dark Iron dwarves fits right in with the Orcs and Trolls.
Like I said earlier. I don’t have any proof. But it’s a theory I choose to believe.
Lets be honest, The Alliance has to be nerfed for any faction conflict to ever make sense.
Even before WoW in original Warcraft, The Horde did nothing but burn cities then lose horribly after.
(Commentary): Part of it is purely a gameplay concern, such as balancing the factions for participation in content. Another part is a legitimate lore concern. Take the Tauren, as perhaps the most obvious example. They have long-standing friendships with the Night Elves that persists to this day, and even positive friendships with humans thanks to Anduin and Jaina. They don’t have much reason to avoid anyone in the Alliance outside of Dwarves. Goblins have been neutral until the Bilgewater joined the Horde, but now Gazlowe is going to be their leader, and he himself is a neutral goblin. Nightborne and Highmountain Tauren certainly never had any cause to want to fight the Alliance rather than hang out with them either.
(Commentary): At the end of the day, the number of actual races that shouldn’t want anything to do with the other factions amounts to about 6 or 7. Humans, Dwarves, and Gnomes, and then Orcs, Trolls, and Forsaken. Blood Elves are in this strange spot where, as per your own comment…
(Continuation): They’re doing just that. It’s why Alleria was distraught at hearing that Sylvanas was the Warchief of the Horde, after the Orcs killed their family in the Second War. Obviously Blood Elves have plenty of reasons to want nothing to do with the Alliance, but unfortunately they keep developing and exploring their relations with the Alliance anyways! If it’s not reconnecting with Dalaran (twice because repetition), or connecting with the Draenei, then it’s Lor’themar and Jaina learning to work together again. Its as if the developers cannot figure out how to develop the Blood Elves in a story that actually forces them to interact with actual Horde races like Orcs, Trolls, Goblins, etc… And of course, like you said…
(Continuation): That probably plays into it a degree. Meanwhile we’ve got High Elves over on the Alliance who act in the manner you’ve described and most Blood Elf players think they’re filthy traitors who can’t get over the past. It’s just complete nonsense at this point.
(Conclusion): When we get down to it, most races don’t really make sense being hard-lined into a single faction. It’s really just the core races. Even Mechagnomes shouldn’t have any reason to really want to fight the Horde or avoid them. We had Goblins in Mechagon helping the Rustbolt Revolution as well.
Let’s be honest. It’s because if they didnt nerf the alliance then a space ship with a light laser beam would fly around nuking the cities. Then we got mechagnomes and as much as I think they should have been customization options for gnomes they do have the city of mechagon with all that crazy sciences.
Further still than All of this, The Player Character ABSOLUTELY shouldn’t be tied down to a faction, regardless of race. We’re the Champions of Azeroth and should be able to ignore cultural and faction restrictions as much as we want.
I’d even be ok for the worgen AR to have minimal classes if the make sethrak druids, that get awesome lizard forms. Plated tank, raptor instead of feral, teradactyl instead of boom etc. They should also be rogues with a snake shadowform. Shaman, warrior. Whatever else.
Dragon form would be the best though.
Reality and “What should be” are two brothers who live very far apart.
This upsets me.
A well polished turd is still a turd. Imagine if they’d put all that effort into something people actually wanted?
I’d prefer ManBearPig.
Half man, half Bear, half Pig.
Guys, I am SUPER cereal about this.
WHY WON’T ANYONE TAKE ME CEREAL?!?
Will you be forced to talk in constant sexual innuendos using a seductive voice?
Probably have to dress up like Prince and sing “When Doves Cry” incessantly.
Oh, I miss Prince. Such a beautiful, talented man. He always made me vibe.
PHRASING!
Are we still doing phrasing?
I’ve long considered myself straight, with a side of Prince.
I would love to see Dragonkin playable on the Alliance like if they were like the Green, Red, Blue, and Black Dragonflight or better yet just make them neutral instead of faction only.
I’ll agree when they can be Paladins.
