Because you posted on the forums and made a bunch of claims you don’t want to back up? Because I’m amused at current events?
These types of games aren’t meant for quick fixes. Tell the friend to check out Street Fighter.
It’s not that hard to get to a decent level that then allows you to try harder content . ZM . In short once you get to ZM just do everything there.
I won’t do what others do and say you can do it in a day (everyone has their own pace and time constraints or might not WANT to play more than 90 minutes a day)
it’s not that hard imo it gets boring but it’s not that hard even for “casual” play.
I did it on two characters my problem now is WANTING to do it to a third.
I’ve only started playing when shadowlands just came out and honestly it’s pretty easy. Not a lot of grinding.
this character is from this season only idk man seems pretty good right now for gearing etc
Honestly the bigger waste, imo, is buying an expansion at the literal end of it’s practical life just to have to soon purchase another…unless buying DF gives you SL and that’s what they did (in which case that’s a pretty big investment in a game they haven’t played in over a decade that they’re going to stick with and get their money worth).
Other than that, it’s pretty unreasonable to expect to just jump in and be on par with people whose spent over 1.5 years keeping up and the catchup mechanics are already very generous. Nothing the freshie is doing requires dual 291 min max BIS legendaries and a full compliment of 260+ ilvl gear. The path to getting all the “mandatory” things is already WAY less and again, it ins’t like they “need” all that to get started on the lower tiers of content like questing through campaigns, LFR, and low keys.
I agree that there’s too much grinding. People probably don’t know what it’s like because they got to lvl 60 one and a half years ago and have been benefitting from all the alt-friendliness features since then. I’ve had two friends who played in 9.0, got bored and quit without doing their covenant campaigns, tried coming back at some point after 9.2, etc. There was too much tedious stuff they needed to do to catch up so they didn’t stick around
It’s the end of the expansion. Of course there is a ton of stuff the grind. In fact, there is an entire expansions worth.
Best off just ignore the grind and wait for the next one in a few months.
Or did they expect to be handed everything just because it is the end of the expansion?
Nah I got my warlock and my druid up to speed to speed. Skip Toeghast do the quest in the new zone. Once you get to ilvl 240(I think ) do Lfr fates raid for gear and comis flux. Use it buy Bag of explpred souls. It give enough mat to craft max level lengo (plus an extra 1000 cosmic flux)
Do normal dungeon till you have high enough ilvl to do heroic dungeons
Also do a m+ key and post it say something like looking for carry and pick the highest io person.
Didn’t they sped up everything from renown, to conduits (since they added an item that is BOA without any restrictions) and armors (spam normal to heroic)
Its not as bad as you think.
You can skip the 9.0 and 9.1 Chains of Domination campaigns and go right to ZM.
500 Anima for 226 gear .
Have friends run you Mythic 0’s, (or start your own group.)
Kill the rares for Flux, do Torghast for Flux, get the 4-set from Mythic 0 gear.
Go from there.
OMG 4 PLAYING SESSIONS! THE HORROR!
It’s funny that they can’t stick out more than four playing sessions in the last patch of an expansion, but you think he’ll make it in this game in general…mmmk
too* much

I agree. The grind for revered rep alone can take weeks. Half the season will be over by then.
Its a bit late for new players to catch up in stuff like that. The mandatory story mode can also hurt if you hate doing campaigns.
I think grinds have been worse in the past in terms of “catching up”. My brothers just came back and they are already doing M+ 10’s after a couple days…
This mage went thru all the Shadow lands stuff. I swore I would never take another character thru that mess and I have not.
They are all now doing BfA unlocking the rest of my allied races. It’s more fun.
We’re talking someone who hasn’t played since WotLK, has zero flying, probably has mediocre gear and might actually want to like read the story text not some pro raider try hard who speed runs everything
Ehh i started in bfa.
If he played during WOTLK then this should seem like a cakewalk because you weren’t jumping into that expansion late and being caught up in a week.
In Mists of Pandaria you could boost to max level and mail your character timeless gear and hop right into the current content. No required campaign garbage existed then other than the legendary cloak quest which was sped up for people in later patches.
